Bre’s death sat heavy in my bones. Her murder has kept me up at night. But her life, as beautifully depicted in @imyagirleva ‘s public eulogy, is one that embodied what it means to live and love fully. Let her fullness of life fuel us to do the same.
Love is the reason why we are in the streets.
For those who can’t make the rally today, call 502-735-1784 and demand accountability for Breonna’s death.

The greatest to do it. I tease about how I am the same age you were when I came into your life. That is my way of saying “damn you really did that shit.” For the past 19 almost 20 years, you dedicated yourself everyday to being everything I needed. Everything we needed. I love you. If I become half the person you are, I’ll be good. 🖤 Happy Father’s Day #blackdads
Happy Juneteenth to all my peoples. If you non-black Cashapp a Black person today. Blk folks drop them cash tags below. Alsodon’t commercialize this holiday... Thanksss.
“I saw things, I imagined” WHOS NEXT? GO GO GO GO GO!
My sis @imyagirleva talked to the family and friends of Breonna Taylor to put together a beautiful public eulogy for Breonna, on what would have been her 27th birthday.
“Breonna Taylor is more than a hashtag, she is a precedent for how we should treat each other and ourselves. Like all of the others slain by police and racist violence, Breonna did not deserve how she left the world that she made her arena. In fighting for justice for Breonna, we can honor her life by seeing the humanity in each other, like Breonna always did. We can be kind to our neighbors, show up for each other and our community, and shed light in dark spaces. We can encourage each other, stay true to ourselves, and stand firm in our values. The energy Breonna emanated made the world a better place, and after knowing her story, we can do better. We can be the greatness Breonna wanted us to be.”

Update re #davidmcatee
The National Guard and LMPD murdered #DavidMcAtee, affectionately known as YaYa, last night. According to folks on the ground, His body was left in the streets until this morning. Over 12 hours. His death was senseless. The National Guard was called to a gathering outside of his business, which was a staple community bbq. The street where he was shot, was over a 40min walk and about a 10 min drive from downtown where the protests were taking place. Meaning, the only reason yaya was shot was because the police and national guard decided they were going to come in and occupy a black neighborhood. Over-policing kills. We are calling for the police and national guard to release the footage and we need them held accountable. This is why we are in the streets. YaYa didn’t deserve this. #blacklivesmatter
My girl @gihannakelly put together this great resource to help support black owned businesses during this time. Black businesses are still dealing w the effects of the pandemic and black bodies are being brutalized on the streets right now.
Tag your fav black business. Here’s a couple more of mine @petronellalux @megsorganx @1loveie
“hi! I’ve accumulated some black-owned business throughout all types of platforms to support :) I couldn’t tag everyone so I put all the Instagram handles (and if I couldn’t find those; websites) onto the pages. feel free to add a black owned brand you know or your own in the comments :)” - @gihannakelly
This past week broke my spirit and then community helped me rebuild it. I have so many feelings that I can’t turn into concise words at the moment. I also don’t have it in me to be a broken record atm. I have so much to say. In coming days, you’ll be hearing from me directly. But right now, I want to say that I love Black people. I love us. I love us so deeply.
Other than that, this video says it all. Thanks @maddymini for writing a song 2 years ago that means even more to me now. And @gihannakelly for creating this video.
Quarantine tip #1: get some sun.
