Day 1 in the community of Louisville, Kentucky went AMAZING! The Louisville community is SO STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL!! We conducted our first round of field observations with community Activists and Organizers! Right now, we’re breaking down data with Dr. Linda Manning! She is our Lead Qualitative Analytics and Data Collection Advisor. Tonight, we will be at a protest so stay tuned!

These videos brought TEARS TO MY EYES! The kids in these videos are praying for my safety and well-being 🥺🥺🥺😭❤️ I haven’t had the time to share yet, but I’ve been working with Gormah Hope International for a long time! This is a nonprofit organization in Liberia that serves communities across the country! I’m far from rich but I’ve been donating and sending resources to this org and a church back home. These videos REALLY moved me! This is just what I needed as I wait to board my flight to Kentucky! God bless those beautiful babies🥺❤️ A special announcement regarding my service project for Liberia coming soon!!! Thank you guys for all of the prayers! If you would like to donate to me while I’m on the frontlines, my CashApp and PayPal is listed! I will continue to keep you guys updated every step of the way!
Today was a stressful but REWARDING day for me! My day started at 6:00 am and I’m running on 2 hours of sleep😬! I had to be to at a press conference with the Manhattan Borough President and Community by 9:30am! We unveiled BLACK LIVES MATTER BOULEVARD AND THE BLM MURAL ON CENTRE ST! The Black Artists and Architectures that created this astonishing work of ART put their hearts and souls into this piece! I encourage everyone to pay it a visit! At the end of the mural is our Org’s LOGO🥺😭! I literally cried! BLMGNY has served NY for over 4 years now through various actions and initiatives! It really means A LOT TO US! Now make no mistake, we’re still fighting for justice because we have a LONG way to go but Art is certainly a form of Activism and we have to uplift Black Artists! Today wouldn’t have been possible without my tribe of Black Women that made sure I was STRAIGHT! From my PR team to my hairstylists! I ended my day by doing something nice for myself! I got my very first install from @slayedbycoco_ ! She’s AMAZING YALL! And don’t get me started on my good sis Lanai (@eyemlanai @sewnbynai )that made this BEAUTIFUL UNIT! Swipe to see my new look😭❤️❤️!!!She really helped bring my spirits up with this because I was feeling down and the movement started to take its toll! Now that I feel better, I’m ready to fly out to Kentucky tomorrow to get this research project started! I wouldn’t be able to do this without YOU GUYS! Y’all really keep me going and I’m so happy to have the best support system in the world!!!

🚨 CALL TO ACTION—EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER: Hey fam, I need your support right now! I’m headed to Louisville, KY this weekend to DEMAND JUSTICE FOR BREONNA TAYLOR and a research project with Cameron Bertrand (@mindofabillion)! The project is entitled: “Who Will Survive in America: The Impact of Social Injustice and Police Brutality in Underserved Communities.” This research will allow us to create trauma informed care solutions! Our methods also include community rapport surveys that gather qualitative and quantitative data to help bring effective change to policies that govern Black communities and communities of color based on the needs each city has voiced and prioritized. Ultimately, these same policies must be reflected and passed in legislation nationwide with each Black and underserved community in mind, along with our unique and individual needs. We’re hitting cities all across the country and working directly with the people of the communities we visit! Our first stop was Minnesota! Next up is Louisville,KY! I’m so happy to be apart of this AMAZING team of Black Organizers/Researchers ( @vip.llc) doing the necessary research to reconstruct this system! We’re apart of the effort to create TANGIBLE SOLUTIONS for communities across the country! We need your support to continue to do this work on the frontlines! The funds will help with travel+food+housing+organizing+PPE!
PLEASE SHARE AND AMPLIFY!!

One Month Update on the Frontlines:
My experience on the frontlines of this movement has been LIFE CHANGING! I can’t even begin to explain how this uprising has PUSHED ME to be a better Leader and Organizer. When I made the decision to leave my Grandparents house in NC to fly to Minneapolis, I knew what I was risking and sacrificing. I knew that if I chose to leave, I couldn’t go back to my Grandparents or my mom’s place in NYC. We’re STILL in the middle of a pandemic. It would be selfish of me to subject them to the risk of contracting COVID-19 because I’m on the frontlines amongst thousands of people and they suffer from asthma. I knew I had to SACRIFICE. I blocked my mom and aunts on social media because I already made up my mind lol and I didn’t feel like hearing anyone talk me out of it. I called my mom to let her know I was in MN ( she was VERY shocked 💀) and eventually unblocked everyone lol. I sacrificed comfortability and life as I knew it for this movement. So many Black Organizers have quit jobs, taken time from family, got kicked out of abusive homes, etc. to give their ALL to this movement. This is real life y’all. We can NEVER go back to “normal”! Normal is KILLING US! It’s time for REVOLUTIONARY CHANGE and I’m honored to be apart of this movement! From Minneapolis to NYC, I laid it all on the line. I don’t regret it one bit. Thanks to continuous community donations, I’ve been able to stay afloat in hotels. In full transparency, it is depressing sometimes. My mom and 5 younger brothers have been my backbone my entire life. EVERY struggle we have overcome, we got through it together. For the first time I’m separated from them. Although I can’t have physical interactions with my mommy rn, she’s been THE MOST SUPPORTIVE MOM EVER!!! She literally calls me around the clock and makes care packages for me to get through the door! I’m actually on my way to pick up my care package now😂! I couldn’t have made it without the unconditional love and support of my mom! I always think abt what would’ve happened 2 my fam if the police killed me in MN. Scary. But I’m glad I’m here. If you would like to support me, my PayPal is listed & in my bio. #blm
