Falling asleep holding hands is really the only way to fall asleep🤍
My first Olympics literally feels like a different lifetime. I remember at 17, I brought my teddy and multiple picture frames to try and make the village feel like my bedroom at home. To have experienced something so special, so young, truly shaped me into who I am today. I am still feeling so much for those athletes whose dreams were postponed for one year, but know this. It’s more than worth it. (And don’t forget your teddy next summer). Happy Olympic Day🇺🇸❤️

I couldn’t ask for more cuddly, sleepy, supportive, loving, handsome boys in my life. I truly ask myself every single day how I got this lucky. I truly didn’t know my heart could be this full🤍
It’s hard to believe summer is already here and it’s the middle of JUNE already! These past few months have shown me how amazing even the smallest of moments can be, and I am headed into the summer (safely) carrying so much gratitude for the things I am slowly being able to reincorporate into my life.
Being back at the studio for barre is such a special time for me. I can tune everything out, put my @aftershokz on, and work on my classes. Not being able to be in the studio for so long gives me such an appreciation for my time there now. To help us all look on the bright side as we get into summer, @aftershokz is offering 20% off from June 15th-21st!! So if for whatever reason you’ve been waiting, now’s your time🤗🎉 Shop the link in my bio! #ShokzSquad #ShokzSummer #Ad
My husband and I talk to young swimmers all the time about the importance of goals. Not just for swimming, but for life. Writing my goals down has always been something that has keep me motivated and held me accountable. As we move forward, I wanted to share how much writing down my goals helps me, just in case it might resonate with any of you, particularly as it relates to allyship as we move forward. I personally have so much work to do. I have just started, and I have a very long way to go. I have written these at the top of every month in my planner, to hold myself accountable to becoming a better ally, not just for the past two weeks, but for the rest of my life, and then to teach my children how to do even better than me. This is not about checking off boxes. Not even close. This is about holding myself to my promise. To be better and to do better, and to always continue learning and growing. I am doing the work, and I will continue doing it.
This is not NEARLY enough. Not even close. But it’s a start. I donated what I would have made teaching my first class this morning to George Floyd’s Memorial Fund and to the Black Visions Collective. This is also not about me. But I have to say, I’m sorry. I’m sorry it took me this long to truly understand that it is MY responsibility, to learn, listen, engage and ACT on behalf of my fellow Black HUMAN BEINGS. I will be better. I will do better.
As we get to the end of May, and the end of Mental Health Awareness Month, something has been weighing heavy on my heart. Mental Health Awareness should be recognized and prioritized ALL. YEAR. LONG. Our mental health HAS to be a priority in each of of our lives. While working out and physical activity are a crucial part of staying healthy, you know what else is? Rest. I will be the fist to admit that as a professional athlete, I was terrible at rest days and truth be told, as a retired athlete, I think I’m even worse at them. I am constantly pushing my body, and while I do truly love this, I need to be better at recognizing the importance of letting my body, both physically and mentally, rest and be still. I’ve been using my @aftershokz not only for my workouts, but also for my rest days, when I pull my yoga mat into the Colorado sunshine and do restorative yoga and meditation. Adding this to my weekly schedule has made a world of difference for me physically and emotionally, not to mention that savasna’s with a 110 pound dog trying to lick your face off can’t help but bring a smile to your face. How can you intentionally add resting and being still into your lives!?☀️💛

I have been waiting to see my name on this screen for longer than I can say. I have wanted to become a @pure_barre teacher for years, and I was SO excited when @purebarre_gv chose to include me in their family when we moved home. For those of you who don’t know, I was in a snowmobile accident at the end of January. I am incredibly grateful it was not more severe, but I tore my PCL and my MCL in my right knee, three days before I was supposed to teach my first class. The recovery/physical therapy has taken all of my energy some days, but finally getting the Doc’s okay to teach, and OFFICIALLY becoming a part of this beautiful family was more than worth every second. Moral of the story, setbacks are never fun, but you HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED WITHIN YOU to beat them, and the sunshine waiting for you on the other side is some of the brightest you’ll ever see. Now let’s go tuck it out😍❤️
Guys... it’s happening. Ever since my sweet Aunt tried to take me golfing when I was 12 and I was SO impatient and just couldn’t get it, I haven’t liked golf. It is FINALLY time for me to move past my 12 year old angst and give this amazing sport a try. Any tips/tricks for getting started would be SO appreciated. We ordered our brand new stunning clubs from @bridgestonegolf and couldn’t be more excited to start using them!!⛳️ *Peep the puppy in the background who is obviously over the moon with excitement about mom’s new adventure🙄🐶😍
