  • We need change more than ever, so please keep taking action for racial justice, COVID-19 relief, and let’s make sure we are ready to vote and ask our friends and family to do the same!! I am SO STOKED to announce that I’m partnering with @propeller.la to auction off a collection of items that have meant SO much to me including ones that have been pulled directly from my closet as well as some of my photography. 🎉💖😝 The more actions you complete, the more you’ll increase your chances of winning 👀 New items will be added each week, so stay tuned for more to come!! You can start taking actions right now and enter for the first batch of items with the link in my story 💗

“As we mourn the deaths 130,000 Americans, as we demand those charged with protecting us stop killing us, as we expose the long held truth that racism, misogyny and xenophobia are foundational to our systems, as our President stokes fear and division while standing upon land stolen from our indigenous nations... “As fireworks mix with tear gas”... how are we to celebrate the 4th of July?
•
The 4th of July is complicated, our democracy imperfect and our promise of independence yet unfulfilled for so many. The bounty of this land stolen by the wealthy and the privilege of living in this beautiful country overshadowed by the neglect and greed that leaves the lives of so many too difficult to see any reason to celebrate.
•
Our commitment is to each other and to the promise of becoming the nation they profess we are. A nation that respects its treaties, that honors its commitments, that understand its bounty is to be shared by all its residence who work tirelessly to make it what it is, to be a safe harbor for those in need and a place where opportunity, safety and freedom of fear is shared equally.
•
So today, like every day we say #blacklivesmatter and #freethemall and #fightfor15 and #honorthetreaties and #defundthepolice and #abolishice and #schoolsnotprisons and #metoo and and and and and tomorrow we will get up and say them again.

  • Repost from @miacarucci: “Standing in front of the ICE detention center in Adelanto, CA one of over 200 detention centers in the US. where migrant families are being torn apart, poisoned, killed, left to await the unknown. who’s torture the entire world has looked over. today I heard stories of detainees from Egypt, Haiti, Mexico, US (born and raised), and the inhumane conditions in which these people live.

So how can anyone celebrate freedom when that has always just been the idea and never the reality? How do you celebrate ANY land built on genocide both in past and present tense?

The fight is not over. It is the work of a lifetime and beyond. So i ask that you follow the tagged organizations and discover ways to abolish the carceral state #freethemall #abolishICE”

  • Woke up to the news that my Grandpa Perry passed away early this morning. He’s been sick for a couple years now so although I’m relieved he is out of pain, it still hurts to think our family won’t get to say goodbye with a proper funeral for a while. But that’s the reality during this pandemic. This man loved God FIERCELY and was one of the best preacher’s I’ve ever had the honor in witnessing spread the word of God. I love you Grandpa. I’m sorry we didn’t take more pictures together but I have so many memories to make me smile until we meet again someday. Rest easy. Love you. ❤️🕊🙏🏼
