The momentum has not stopped for us, and we realizerealize that there’s still work to be done!
We understand the importance of community for people that do not fit in all or any of the society’s checkboxes, so we decided to provide a service where people choose whether they want to fit into one or create checkboxes of their own. BSA’s support groups were created to provide a safe space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to meet people who identify like them and share their experiences. All of our support groups occur once a month from 7pm to 9pm CT for Trans, Non-Binary and Gender Non-Conforming people. Meetings are held virtually via Zoom. Please follow our FB event pages for more information! #bebrave
For today’s Staff Tuesday we’d like to introduce someone who has held BSA down since the very beginning!

A Black Transgender Woman Was Killed On The Last Day Of Pride: Our community is searching for answers after the body of 22-year-old Merci Mack, a Black transgender woman, was discovered in Dallas on Tuesday morning. She is at least the 18th trans person to die by violence in 2020, the vast majority of whom have been trans women of color.
Mack's body was discovered in a parking lot of the Rosemont Apartments located in South Dallas at 6:15 a.m with apparent gunshot wounds. While residents of the building allegedly heard shots fired an hour prior, the Dallas Police Department claims that no one made a call to 911.
Now more than ever, it’s important for us to strive to empower, embolden, and educate each other through mutual aid, knowledge-sharing, and the creation of community-sourced resources as we build toward the liberation of all oppressed peoples! Please visit our website for more information!
