  • It is certainly not always the case that gynecological imbalances arise in the wake of #sexual #abuse, but it is sufficiently common that we understand there might be a correlation. I long ago learned it was unnecessary to confirm such a link verbally with a patient. I learned this the hard way and share my current perspective on this in our new course #WomensHealth and #Hormones Part II available here: https://buff.ly/316jbg0 as well as in chapter 20--"Sexual Abuse", in #TheFourQualitiesOfEffectivePhysicians here: https://buff.ly/2UAhRBT⠀

  • Women's Health & Hormones: Hormonal Balance & Stagnation is a course #drwelch has been teaching around the world, in one form or another since 1998. It is what she is most often asked to teach. It is information explained and synthesized in a way we have not seen elsewhere, and that we have found useful for MDs, Ayurveda clinicians, practitioners of Chinese or Daoist medicine, or anyone really –regardless of background in medicine or health. We are so pleased to be able now to offer it, and plan to release it on September 21, at 11:30am Eastern Time, in time for the equinox.. Here’s what it’s about:⠀⠀
⠀⠀
When we consider a woman’s health from cradle to the grave, it can feel overwhelming to understand all her changes, transitions, fluctuations and conditions, and to begin to address or resolve them. In this course, Dr. Welch explores how women’s primary #hormones and most #gynecological conditions and experiences can be sorted into two underlying categories from perspectives that combine Ayurveda, nāḍi theory, #ChineseMedicine, and #Westernscience.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Once we are comfortable with these lenses, we can more clearly perceive how best to begin to address and resolve imbalances. We will learn some #practical, simple, tools to aid us to do this.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
This course is designed to complement the information presented in #BalanceYourHormones, #BalanceYourLife: Achieving #OptimalHealth and #Wellness through Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, and Western Science, but it is not necessary to have read the book before taking the course. Learn more about the new course here: https://drclaudiawelch.com/shop/online-courses-shop/womens-health-courses/womens-health-hormones-i/⠀

  • In Women’s Health & Hormones Part I: Hormonal Balance & Stagnation, #drwelch explores how women’s primary #hormones and most #gynecological conditions and experiences can be sorted into two categories, using a perspective that combines #Ayurveda, nāḍi theory, #ChineseMedicine, and Western science. The first category we saw to be hormonal imbalance and the second, stagnation. We explored how to address these disorders through #lifestyle, #diet and simple home remedies.⠀
.⠀
In Women’s Health & Hormones Part II: Srotorodha & The 6 #Therapeutic Principles, we go into more depth in, and assign #clinical terminology of Ayurveda to these categories. We explore #treatment strategies and case studies to better understand how to apply the theory and resolve disorders, and #herbal strategy to employ when lifestyle and diet changes are insufficient for treatment. We are so pleased to be able now to offer it, and plan to release it on September 21, at 11:30am Eastern Time, in time for the equinox.⠀

This seminar is designed to complement the information presented in #BalanceYourHormones, #BalanceYourLife: Achieving Optimal #Health and #Wellness through Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, and Western Science, but it is not necessary to have read the book before taking the course. Both this course and Women’s Health and Hormones Part I are prerequisites to taking Dr. Welch’s Mentorship program, even if you are a seasoned #Ayurvedicprofessional. There is little overlap between this course and #HealthierHormones.⠀

  • Did you know that meditation can help manage your endometriosis?⁣⠀
⁣⠀
Mindfulness meditation has been found to significantly reduces all-cause pain including endometriosis. Meditation has also been shown to reduce anxiety and depression scores, assist in reducing symptoms of IBS, improve memory and concentration.⁣⠀
⁣⠀
Meditation can help quiet your mind, it is like pressing the reset button on your mind. It can be done anywhere, anytime and importantly it's FREE. ⁣⠀

Please do read the entire article and determine if this is something you feel is relevant to you. Do some research. Speak to your female health practitioner. Experiment and see what happens.
The chart outlining what to eat and when in your cycle is in here too. Print it out, stick it to your fridge 😍 This is from @drjolenebrighten ♥️♥️ Here is the info to access the article:

  • @saragottfriedmd recommends 7 steps to reset your hormones. @thechalkboardmag wrote out 3 quick changes you can take today. I’m reposting their top three; here’s how I have incorporated them:
I gave up caffeine a few years ago for a number of years primarily because it caused my cortisol to spike and my adrenals to pump and I was suffering already from burn out. I would awake in the morning ‘tired but wired’ and knew my cortisol and adrenals were maxing out. I had to allow my body to ‘come down’ and when it did, OMG, I slept for a year. I ended up being able to sleep for 10-14 hours a night. Totally random when I had been getting 4-6 nightly. I felt like a new woman. Because I had the data of before coffee and after giving up coffee, I was able to set limits and knew one a day, max. I slowly reintroduced it when we moved to Greece. I now only have one half-decaf/half caf long espresso every morning and avoid it the rest of the day. I’ve come a long way as I did use it like an IV drip to get me powered through my day 🤣. I also check in with my body. The minute I get in to ‘tired but wired’ mode, I switch to matcha or even chamomile and a fresh veggie smoothie....this way I’m supporting my body rather than suppressing my symptoms. Symptoms- rapid heart rate, being a bit sweaty, not having a clear head are gorgeous signs to take stock and adjust my diet and activity levels to reset and support. I’m working on conscious consumption of foods and nutrients.
I rarely eat red meat these days but if we do we are certain to only eat grass fed free range meat. Living in Europe is amazing because antibiotics and growth hormones are not used. Sadly, many countries still use them in their cattle and poultry... Sugar - we know is a trip up for hormone balance so I tend toward crowding out my meals and days with nutrient dense full meals that are packed with healthy protein, fat, and fiber. The more insoluble fiber I eat the less cravings that I have. I now have zero cravings 😍
Alcohol- I read Dr. Perlmutter’s book, Grain Brain and learned that alcohol can disrupt sleep while it is being processed by the body. One of the enzymes used to break down alcohol has -see below

While we emphasize using the six #therapeuticprinciples of #Ayurveda to resolve #stagnation, simply the exploration of their #curious aspects is helpful to learn or explore in addressing any disorder.
We are so pleased to be able now to offer it, and plan to release it on September 21, at 11:30am Eastern Time, in time for the equinox.⠀
.⠀
This seminar is designed to complement the information presented in #BalanceYourHormones, #BalanceYourLife: Achieving Optimal #Health and #Wellness through Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine, and Western Science, but it is not necessary to have read the book before taking the course. Both this course and Women’s Health and Hormones Part I are prerequisites to taking Dr. Welch’s Mentorship program, even if you are a seasoned #Ayurvedicprofessional. There is little overlap between this course and #HealthierHormones.⠀

Here’s what it’s about:⠀
⠀
When we consider a woman’s health from cradle to the grave, it can feel overwhelming to understand all her changes, transitions, fluctuations and conditions, and to begin to address or resolve them. In this course, Dr. Welch explores how women’s primary #hormones and most #gynecological conditions and experiences can be sorted into two underlying categories from perspectives that combine Ayurveda, nāḍi theory, #ChineseMedicine, and #Westernscience.⠀
⠀
Once we are comfortable with these lenses, we can more clearly perceive how best to begin to address and resolve imbalances. We will learn some #practical, simple, tools to aid us to do this.⠀
