  • It’s post time and you don’t have anything prepared 😳⠀
⠀
It’s time to post to your socials and you have been really busy and haven’t had time to prepare anything.⠀
⠀
Your thinking - “OMG - What am I going to post?” You’re frantically looking through your phone for the right image - or just plain inspiration! Thoughts, topics and ideas run through your mind and you even start to break out in a sweat 😓 ⠀
⠀
🛑 Stop right there!!! ⠀
⠀
There is a GOLDEN rule when running social media - Never Post for the Sake of It!! ⠀
⠀
And exhale! ⠀
⠀
If you post for something to post it will look like it! It won’t help your tribe and it isn’t necessary! It’s better to say nothing than to say the wrong thing!! ⠀
⠀
So if today sees you running for content - don’t! Take the day off, come back fresh tomorrow and plan your content for the week! ⠀
⠀
Let me have your feels on showing up well! ⠀

  • Female-founded teams RAISED LESS MONEY, BUT GENERATED MORE REVENUE. 📊📈⠀
⠀
A Boston Consulting Group study looked at 350 companies that went through the MassChallenge program and that's the difference they noted.⠀
⠀
For every dollar raised, female-led startups generated 78 cents in revenue, and male-led startups generated 31 cents in revenue. ⠀
⠀
First Round Capital had similar findings, noting that companies with a female founder performed 63 percent better than companies made up of all-male team members.⠀
⠀
Diversity in age and ethnicity is just as important for innovation. Varied backgrounds and experiences arguably lead to a team that better understands people and the needs of its customers.⠀
⠀
Even though investment in all-female founding teams was only 2.7 percent of capital invested last year, venture capital investment in all-female founding teams rose 10 percent between 2018 and 2019 to $3.3 billion–up from $2.1 billion in 2017. ⠀
⠀
Teams with both male and female founders received 12 percent of the VC deals in 2019.⠀
⠀
Although the needle of change was moving slowly, IT WAS MOVING!!! ⠀
⠀
There were more female-founded unicorns in 2019 than ever before, 22 in total, up from 15 in 2018, and Crunchbase reported that 20 percent of global startups raising their first round of funding in 2019 had a female founder. ⠀
⠀
There are many clear benefits of a diverse team–one of which is that they generate more revenue, which, during an economic crisis, is incredibly important.⠀

Her love for working with children traces back to 1994 when she used to volunteer to teach Sunday school at Watoto Children's Church and charity home. In 1999, she started 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 as the headteacher and is now CEO of the group.

  • Here you go, today’s reminder! It’s hard, you think you should be more, have more, have done more.... I mean, look at her/him. You are probably thinking you’ve worked harder/been through more, doesn’t seem fair, does it..... The reality is, you have no idea what the other person has been through. You are in different seasons of life... don’t give up, keep taking those small steps forward, keep doing the work, don’t give yourself one more excuse to give up, it will all pay off!

  • How to be a good friend from afar 👩‍❤️‍👩

We’re all seeing our friends and family less at the moment, and many friendships have become ‘virtual’.

Yesterday, I spent a fab hour video calling one of my longest term besties. We’ve been friends for 25 years, but several years ago she moved to another continent so we rarely actually see each other. And this got me thinking about what makes a real friend, even when distance separates you?

You don’t have to see each other often but what is key is that when you DO connect you are consistently ‘there’ for the other person. And that means that aside from the obvious giggles and fun to your friendship, you also convey love, affection, interest, and you genuinely want to hear what the other person has been doing, feeling, experiencing, and what they might be worried about, and what their recent joys might have been.

It’s the sort of friendship where you just KNOW that even if several months pass before you see each other again, you know what you’re going to get. Things just slip right back into place how they always are and always have been.

Consistency, and security, knowing that you will fit together, and that you can be you is key. Knowing you can be honest, and you don’t need to ‘perform’ or dress up, or work hard to make conversation or in fact, ‘work’ at the relationship in anyway. This gives you a level of comfort and security EVEN when you’re not actually seeing them very often.

And although of course it’s great to see your friends often, if you can’t at the moment, a distant friend can also be a great kind of friendship to have, because it’s one that you can carry with you, like a safety net you can fall back on if/when you need to know that they are there.

Why not text a friend you haven’t seen in a while right now? Let them know you’re thinking of them and that you care. Your friendship, even from afar, may mean more than you know! 💗💗💗

  • What if this is the week you make THAT sale…
⠀
You know what I’m talking about. The sale that’s been on your heart for weeks, maybe even months.
⠀
✨ Maybe it means the first time selling your 1:1 packages at a doubled price. ✨
⠀
You’ve known for months now that you desire to be making more money. But you also:
⠀
👻 Are scared you’ll lose business with this price increase.
👎 Talk yourself out of it while on sales on calls.
⏰ Know you’ll raise your prices, but don’t know when...
⠀
✨ Maybe it means selling your very first service ever. ✨
⠀
You’ve created the website, IG platform, you’ve done a few lives… check, check and check. Now where’s the #cashmoney that you’re so ready to receive? It’s hiding behind that first sale. You:
⠀
🧐 Don’t even know where to begin. Where are the clients hiding?
🤦‍♀️ Are scared, honestly. What if you fail?
📋 Have so many other business things to do first (that you might be hiding behind).
⠀
✨ Maybe it means launching that new offering. ✨
⠀
You’ve had this idea in the back of your mind for a while. But as the weeks and months go by, it’s still not been brought into life. You’re ready, but you also:
⠀
🦗 Have had launches flop before- not really wanting to hear more crickets.
🤷‍♀️ Aren’t sure that anyone would buy it.
🍝 Have SO much on your plate- how do you know if it’s worth it?
⠀
While I don’t have a crystal ball that can allow you to look into the future, my sales training, Service-Based Sales, will show you how to CREATE how you want the future to look.
⠀
Are you ready to make THAT sale and say goodbye to the excuses?!
⠀
The doors to Service-Based Sales close in a few days and the chance to join for $1,000 OFF THE PRICE expires forever. In this program, you’ll learn:
⠀
💸 How you come off when selling- this is huge!
💸 Sales psychology- what moves the needle vs. keeps the wallet tucked away’?
💸 My sales calls mastery strategy- never get nervous again.
💸 The strategies I’ve used to create hundreds of thousands in sales.
⠀
What are you waiting for? Make the decision that you’ll make THAT sale- and so much more. The link is in my bio!

  • SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME🤘💓⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I started my business from the ground up. No certifications. A waitress salary. So don't be coming over here with your "I can't " energy. You want it to happen? Take the step.⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️My favourite colour is, NONE. I love neutrals. Give me all the black, white, grey. See me in yellow? 99% likely someone bought it for me. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I go nowhere without a chocolate bar in my purse. #AlwaysBeReady⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I have two sides. Hair in a bun and eyebrows on so I don't look like a thumb, OR beauty queen vibes with full hair and makeup. There is no in-between. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I had a six-pack but I didn't like it. Did it look great? YUP. But I am a wine, cake and well - carbs kinda girl. It's going to be sweets over six-pack FO ME. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I could live on pasta if I had to. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I wanted glasses BAD. I prayed as a kid to have impaired vision so I could get them and would purposely answer wrong at the eye doctor to get them. Living my best life now with blue blockers.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I'm a social introvert. I need a good balance of parties and pjs. I LOVE going out until the battery runs out. Then it's home to @phuilt and the pups to snuggle on the couch. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I have a cotton ball phobia. Let me explain. As a kid. HATED the dentist. He tried to shove cotton balls in my mouth after a filling. Nearly took the poor guy out. (#StrongestSevenYearOldYouHaveEverSeen).⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I legit wanted to be a maid until I was like 16. I blame JLO, in Maid In Manhattan. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I can be sugary sweet, but I sugarcoat nothing. Always been a girl who tells others like it is, and also desires the same. Give it to me straight. Always. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I am convinced that a trip to winners can solve nearly any problem. Something about spending $100 on random things like microfibre face cloths, candles, and 5 throw pillows just works. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
➡️I'm a middle child of four. Two brothers one sister. Little brother won the cutest baby in our city. I couldn't compete with that. Two older are bffs as kids. I was the kid people asked, "Did Laura bring a friend?". ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣

  • Wanted to chat about something a little personal to me...
⠀
Covid/Quarantine has effected a lot of people in many different ways! It’s been a struggle for a 𝒍𝒐𝒕 of people.
⠀
For some (like myself) it has caused us to pivot, and make really hard choices. I was in the restaurant industry for 10yrs! Jumping ship to take this little business full-time was a huge risk. I was so scared that I was making the wrong choice.
⠀
Like who tf actually quits their job during a pandemic?😂 I do, I guess.
⠀
However, seeing my business grow, and finally feeling like myself again has been so rewarding.👑
⠀
Feeling powerful, and fed up, I also made some personal choices for my current and future happiness. Choosing to start over is very scary. It can feel like you have zero direction, and that you’re running against 60mph wind. However, once I pulled the rip cord, I found my happiness again.
⠀
In March of 2020, I was tethered to my restaurant manager job, working 75+hr work weeks (between my biz and my full time job), I was engaged to be married, and depressed af.
⠀
𝑭𝒂𝒔𝒕-𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑨𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎:
I have my dream job being my own boss, I got out of a relationship that wasn’t serving me, and I feel the happiest and most bad ass I have felt in (literally) 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔!
⠀
𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭.
⠀
However, I really hope that if you’re questioning 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 about your life, that maybe you read this and realize that your life is your only one. Make it fucking count.
⠀
Happy Monday! What are you doing for 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇, this week?👇🏼
