  • Waiting for the lights to turn on. A misty evening at the Inn River in Passau, Germany. Passau is a charming town known for its gothic and baroque architecture. It’s also known as the Three Rivers City because the Danube River is joined there by the Inn and Ilz rivers.

  • Soaring above those Washington moods ☁️🚁

One of the best feelings you can get as a drone “pilot” is when you pop up above low cloud cover and a view like this pops up.

Driving to some epic spots up near Rainier with @jhamilbader and @jorsny stoked to check them out 🤘

  • I haven’t felt particularly close to God the majority of my life. Sometimes working in extreme poverty it’s hard to not see the absence of a divine being as people suffer and feel frustrated things aren’t different. But I do feel like I often feel His love through nature and through the sun. After I had lived in Estonia for 7 weeks, I still had yet to see the sun. I had arrived in the worst part of the year and it was winter time when it went from dark grey to light grey for a few hours and then back to dark and it was honestly so depressing. I hadn’t ever lived out of the country before and mission rules meant I wasn’t able to talk to my family and it was so cold outside. The type of cold that freezes your eyelashes and nose hairs and makes you almost run instead of walk so you can get inside. Also I was still learning Russian and could only understand half of what was being said all around me and could only say about 1/8 of what I wanted to. I was lonely and sad and cold. And I really, really missed the sun. On week eight I was on a trolley bus, like we often were, headed somewhere for a lesson. There were only a few people on the bus with us and all of them had already quickly dismissed us and said not interested in talking more about God. I sat down alone by the window. I felt so frustrated and so sad. And I remember praying, “Heavenly Father, everything sucks. I know it’s the middle of winter but can I please see the sun soon.” And just as I thought those words the whole sky parted and sunshine came pouring into the bus directly on my face. My eyes snapped open and everyone kind of gasped and the blinding light soaked the inside of the bus and my poor sad self and it was honestly shocking. We all stared at the intense, direct sunlight for almost a minute, and then it was gone as quickly as it came. And I remember tears welled up in my eyes and I felt so grateful and I felt like I mattered. I know most people would think that’s pretty trivial but it was big for me. And I feel like almost every time I feel sad and lonely and frustrated, I somehow get washed over with sunshine and peace and I just hope it means that God really is there and I still matter.
