  • Sums up my current mood...do NOT disturb...do NOT piss me off...if someone had told me two weeks ago what life would be like now, I don't know what I'd have done...laughed and probably said "Yeah, of COURSE that's what's going to happen next"...angry, anxious, scared, daunted, excited, stressed, upset, bewildered. And that'll be us for the next year, PASS THE FIZZ 💪🥂🥵 XXX

  • Did you get to go on a summer vacation this year? Did you get to have fun and relax and recharge while making memories? ⠀
⠀
Or was there a little voice in the back of your head saying, "Don't eat that, it will ruin your diet." or "Better get up early and go for a run to burn off all those calories you ate yesterday."⠀
⠀
I'll be honest, there was a time in my life when I took all the fun and rest out of my vacation because I was so worried about gaining weight or losing the fitness I had worked so hard for. Can you relate?⠀
⠀
If I could go back and talk to that girl, here is what I would tell her: ⠀
⠀
First, let go of the have to's and should do's. If you over sleep and don't get your morning run or workout in, give yourself grace. You probably needed the sleep. Traveling is tiring and stressful. Especially when you're wrangling kids. ⠀
⠀
You can have your grilled chicken and ice cream too. You can choose a healthy menu option (so that your body gets some good nutrients to fuel your beach day) AND eat the ice cream. And the pizza. Just sayin'.⠀
⠀
Take advantage of this time to just do nothing. Or maybe read a book or watch a movie without having to fold laundry. It's a vacation! That means you get to relax. ⠀
⠀
Your focus gets to be on the fun adventures you're having. Your "diet" will be there when you get home. And no, your 5 pound weight gain isn't 5 pounds of fat weight gain. It will come off when you get back to your daily routine. ⠀
⠀
Also, make sure to take your BioCleanse, it's a life saver.⠀

  • With a year of weekends spent inside this van, we have created a little home on wheels with our own fair hands! We are so proud of where we have come....(ignore the missing drawer front)

  • Happy one-year Coloradoversary to me!

One year ago, I left Europe three weeks early, on a last minute direct flight from Budapest to Denver, a bit of a hot mess, with zero plans and no idea what my next move would be.

Four weeks later, I was having panic attacks and major anxiety signing a lease for my first real commitment in two years.

And while the past five months may not have been what I (or anyone) thought and I still have an aversion to planning more than six months in advance, I do know a few things that make me happy:

• Sundays spent at the farmers market before an afternoon hike
• Feeling my heart lift in my chest every time I catch the first glimpse of mountains driving down I-70
• 300+ days of sunshine a year
• Epic alpenglows from the top of snow covered mountains
• Reconnecting with old friends
• “Mountain casual” wear and Birkenstock’s acceptable nearly everywhere
• Fresh snow transforming the mountains into Narnia
• Alpine lakes as blue as the sky
• Morning coffee on a sun-soaked deck
• Making new friends
• Sleeping under the stars and waking up to fresh air
• The lingering smell of a campfire

I use to think I was a water baby, having spent the majority of my adult life never far from the ocean, but the past year has helped me discover a deeper connection to myself and my surroundings. The mountains ground me. They breathe life into me. They put things into perspective, reminding me just how small I am and how big this world really is. Diving into sea and saltwater will always be an itch that must be scratched; but these mountains have healed my soul and brought a welcomed calmness to my restless bones. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that for the first time in my life, this is the closest I’ve felt to home.

  • It’s Friday!!☀️
Am I the only one suffering in this hot weather? 🥵 Very unpopular opinion but I honestly can’t wait for autumn to come, oversized jumpers, pumpkin spiced candles, hot chochies! Is anyone else the same?🤷🏼‍♀️
