He joined both the football and baseball team coming in as a freshman. He was a relief pitcher and had a great love for the sport of baseball. Before his Junior season, he quit the baseball team to focus on football which led to his best season yet including 41 touchdowns and over 5,000 yards. He then declared for the draft after this season.

So excited about my favorite season of the year! What I’m even MORE excited about is being able to record workout videos outdoors now that my summer class schedule is more flexible. So going forward, you’ll get to enjoy some NYC views with most of the upcoming workouts hah! It’ll just be like we’re working out together, NYC rooftop style 😉 Comment below ANY WORKOUT REQUESTS!!!   • One size fits all - ha no it doesn't.⁣

Think about socks that say one size fits all, you have seen them right? Those white tubes without a heel?⁣
⁣
Do they fit you? Are they the best socks you have ever had?⁣
⁣
Yeah didn't think so. There are not many whose feet are made for those loose tubes of fabric..⁣
⁣
So the idea of "one size fits all" exist, it is a thing, and it might fit someone.⁣
⁣
But you don't have to fit in it. It does not have to be your thing.⁣
⁣
I talked briefly about this (not the socks actually) in one short interview/chat at @briseeley 's Facebook group couple days ago as she says the same thing in the business world, one size fits all approach with business is often a sign of laziness.⁣
⁣
If we know more of who we are, we get so much better at realizing what fits us and what doesn't...

What takes us forward,
what is consuming,
what gives us energy,
what are the qualities in us that we can always trust and lean on.⁣
⁣
That is why Sports Capacity Assessment was created. We felt that it was a little bit of a dangerous path to think that there would be one way to success or athletes should only be a certain way to succeed.⁣

  • Hands up for those athletes that have LONGGGGG practices.

Many athletes have messaged me asking how to keep their energy levels up during these long training sessions.

The first step is to make sure you are eating enough food in general to meet your nutrition needs! If you aren’t meeting your needs, you will already feel low on energy.

Next make sure you eat a large meal before practice. Ideally, athletes would eat this meal 2-3 hours beforehand. If your training session is in the morning, have a large dinner, a night time snack and a quick carbohydrate snack in the morning.

During practice, use a carbohydrate rich beverage (gatorade, powerade) to keep your energy levels up. When you have a moment, take in carbs! This is a place where using “sports foods” like gels, chews, beans come in handy. You can also use real food like dried fruit, apple sauce, fruit snacks, rice krispy treats or your favorite quick carbohydrate.

Try to get in 30 grams of carbohydrates an hour! LOOK AT THE NUTRITION LABEL, look at the serving size to see the amount of food that is considered in the nutrition label. Then look at TOTAL CARBOHYDRATES.

Make sure to stay hydrated and have a recovery snack afterwards.

Outside of practice, athletes may feel like their full time job is to EAT but athletes training at a high level need SO MUCH FOOD. He/she may need to eat every 2 hours!
