  • The tranquil waters of the Malilangwe Dam, set right beneath Singita Pamushana Lodge and Malilangwe House in Zimbabwe, boast excellent game fishing throughout the year. This abundance of fresh fish inspired the recipe for Zambezi-beer-battered bream fillets in our cookbook, Singita: Our Food Journey.

The recipe – which you can find at the link in our bio – is a guest favourite at the lodge and encapsulates our commitment to sourcing fresh, seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, or, in the case of Malilangwe Dam and Singita Pamushana's vegetable garden, our own back yard.

  • Good morning from Singita Pamushana; 130,000 acres of untouched wilderness in the remote southeastern corner of Zimbabwe.

This ecosystem functions much as it has for thousands of years. It is a shining example of a long-term conservation vision in action, where the reserve remains as close as possible to its natural, undisturbed state.

Its rugged beauty and thriving wildlife population make for a truly unique and unforgettable safari experience for our guests.

Particularly large herds of elephant are currently a feature of the Wildlife Reports from Singita Pamushana, with numerous big groups being sighted at Sosigi Dam or frequenting the swamps near Hippo Valley. This is in addition to a number of musth bulls seen roaming the 130,000-acre reserve.

Singita Pamushana Lodge

  • AN UPDATE FROM THE MALILANGWE TRUST: The Malilangwe Trust is Singita’s conservation partner in Zimbabwe and is the non-profit organisation responsible for restoring and maintaining the historic biodiversity of the reserve in which Singita Pamushana Lodge is found.
•
With the country currently under national lockdown, the Trust is impacted by a significant reduction in the revenues that sustain their operations, but they remain committed to their coronavirus awareness and education programme, as well as some essential projects that help to feed local communities. One of these is a vegetable garden run by a team of 21 local women, who have been granted permission to access it in order to continue planting and harvesting fresh produce.
•
Please consider making a donation to support the Malilangwe Trust, which protects 130,000 acres of wilderness as well as caring for neighbouring communities. More info and a link to donate directly to the Trust is at the link in our bio.
•
Please note: Photos taken prior to national lockdown in Zimbabwe. Singita is operating strictly within the safety protocols outlined by the government.

  • The abundant vegetation at Singita Pamushana at this time of year can make it tricky to spot elephants, as they are easily camouflaged by the thick woodlands on the property. 🐘🌳🐘🌳However, when they do emerge into a clearing or across a road, it is quite a breathtaking sight - Specialist Field Guide Jenny Hishin recently observed this massive breeding herd on their way to a waterhole which comprised upwards of 60 individuals! Repost: @singita_ •

Through the crispy bronze mopane leaves I could still see it sitting in the bushes. It wasn’t running away."
