  • Day two of the @tomevansultra x @redbulluk training week and it was hills followed by a group Strength and Conditioning session via Zoom.

As you may already know I’ve got my absolute world @evierunsldn here this week, so it’s a fine balancing act for @fitcetera and I to squeeze everything in.

G got up and out early doors to get her hills done before starting work, she has been WFH during lockdown and she pretty much nails it. Evie woke up whilst she was out so dived in bed with me for some morning snuggles, then it was breakfast followed by Home Schooling time. I’m so proud of her, last night before going to bed she told me we should get all the schoolwork done early so we can enjoy more of the day together.

Took us until about 11 am to get it all done, this gave me a short window to get my hills done before the 1pm S&C session, I knew I could use the same hill as George so headed out at half past. During my warmup, I spotted a different hill that could be a contender...we had to run up the hill for three minutes and G had warned me that her hill might be too short for me. I hunkered down, hid my bottle of diluted Red Bull behind a wall and got going.

The plan was 5 x 3min reps, up for 3 minutes then jog back down! I forgot how much I love hills, the up is hard but I always forget how hard on the jog back and am ready to go again. Only problem is I get fuzzy brain and forget what rep I’m on, any tips on this?

I managed to consistently hit around 7:50min mile pace on the up which I’m more than happy with, especially as the last rep felt like I was running in treacle near the top.

I got back with 30mins to spare before the S&C session, which was so much fun, Evie was causing havoc during the session messing about and having a blast but who are we to stop her. Lovely to see @theurbanchallenger doing some reps with his baby daughter as a weight, enjoy it whilst you can ha-ha.

  • Como alguns jĂĄ sabem, nos Ășltimos dias passei a fazer parte dos mais de 1,8 milhĂ”es de brasileiros que tiveram diagnĂłstico confirmado de infecção pelo COVID-19. Tive um quadro mais leve da doença, com seus devidos sintomas, mas nada comparado aos mais de 73 mil brasileiros que jĂĄ foram a Ăłbito em decorrĂȘncia da mesma. Como mĂ©dico, queria deixar o meu relato, que pode ser de grande valia a alguns de vocĂȘs, atletas e pessoas normais, que me seguem e acompanham minha rotina. 
NĂŁo tenho certeza de onde contraĂ­ o vĂ­rus: posso ter pego de algum colega de trabalho, em alguma remoção de um paciente ou mesmo em atividades normais, como ir ao supermercado. ImpossĂ­vel ter uma certeza! Meus sintomas começaram apĂłs um longĂŁo de corrida. Treinei bem e forte, mas no final tive uma leve dor nas costas.Achei que fosse apenas por conta do impacto da corrida e ignorei. No dia seguinte, a dor persistiu. Sai para um treino de 4 hs de pedal, mas o corpo nĂŁo respondia muito bem. A dor nas costas persistia e o corpo parecia que estava com um alto nĂ­vel de fadiga. NĂŁo tinha tosse ou falta de ar. NĂŁo tinha febre aferida. Mas um mal estar que incomodava muito. Consegui completar as 4 hs de pedal mas em uma intensidade bem abaixo do planejado. Ao final do treino o mal estar se agravou. Terminei passando o dia todo deitado e com muita dor de cabeça e dor nas costas. No dia seguinte acordei me sentindo melhor mas nĂŁo fui treinar na rua por conta do tempo frio e de uma leve suspeita de COVID. Fiz um treino bem leve de pedal indoor e no perĂ­odo da tarde os sintomas retornaram: muito mal estar, dor de cabeça e dor nas costas. Decidi entĂŁo fazer uso de azitromicina por conta de muitos estudos que indicavam benefĂ­cios no uso da mesma no combate ao vĂ­rus. Comecei no terceiro dia de sintomas. Nada de usar profilĂĄtico (como mĂ©dico, NÃO INDICO)! No 4Âș dia de sintomas acordei com um mal-estar e fiz a opção de encaixar um trote bem leve na esteira. Mantive a azitromicina e consegui treinar leve, apesar da dor nas costas e da dor de cabeça. Realizei uma sorologia para Covid e veio negativo (jĂĄ esperado por ser o 4Âș dia dos sintomas). Fiz um hemograma e veio uma queda no nĂșmero de plaquetas.
