🍝 Cendawan kulat 1 cawan
🍝 Sos tiram vegan
🍝 Minyak bunga matahari 1/2 sudu besar
🍝 Air 1 cawan
1.  Rendamkan cendawan kulat.
2. Bersihkan dan hiris lobak merah, bawang dan halia.
3. Hiris cendawan kulat.
4. Panaskan wok/kuali tidak melekat dan minyak pada api sederhana.
5. Tumis bawang putih sehingga sedikit garing.
6. Tumis lobak merah sehingga sedikit lembut.
7. Masukkan cendawan kulat dan halia. Tumis sehingga kulat sedikit layu.
8. Masukkan air dan gaul. Biarkan mendidih.
9. Masukkan sos tiram secukup rasa dan gaul.
10. Masukkan mee beras dan gaul. Masak sehingga kuah menjadi pekat.

Sound familiar?

Do you comfort eat when you are upset or stressed or angry?

You're not alone. I've had splurges of eating eating packets of fruit scones or chocolate biscuits 😅

Usually reaching for a sugary treat because sugar is sweet and usually tastes nice. If something tastes nice then I'll feel better...right?

Or maybe you're go to is alcohol, caffeine, crisps or the nutella jar?

I'm not saying this is acceptable but we're only human not perfect.

If you catch yourself before or in the middle of a splurge. Stop and think.

Is this benefitting me in any way? 

Sometimes it's difficult to stop but you have to dig deep. The mental battle is so much harder than we realise until we are in the middle of one. It doesnt crop up once and then thats it dealt with. It can be an every day battle.

Ways to cope:
✅ fruit - contains sugar not as much as processed snacks but is healthier

✅ get out and go for a walk or exercise maybe join a friend

✅ drink some water - you might be dehydrated don't confuse this with cravings

✅ write your thoughts down to help you think more clearly

✅ hardest one is talk to a friend/partner/parent/sibling someone you trust

Lockdown isn't easy for anyone. Looking after our mental and physical health has always been important but even more so now.

Be constructive. Not destructive.

  • During lockdown my will power to exercise at home has been sparse.

Which has led to weight gain, feeling out of breath when walking Troopers Hill steps and lack of motivation.

All these are health warnings to me, including mental health.

Several years ago I decided to come up with different "30 day challenges". Never have I decided to SKIP for 30 days in a row, until now.

  • Being someone that suffers with severe hemiplegic migraines that may or may not be heart related, I may look ok but just because I don’t visually dramatise things, doesn’t always mean I’m ok. Tonight is ALLLLLL about the squishy pillow, comfy pjs, copious amounts of hydrating tea and sleep . . .

Lately I’ve really been struggling with comparison and major anxiety...to those people who have “made it”, people whose body’s I admire, etc. But at the end of the day, we all have our own journeys, and whenever those negative thoughts peep in your mind, let it go! ⁣

Let go of that anxiety that likes to creep in! It’s easier said than done, but those who know what it is to struggle with anxiety understand where I’m coming from. Just keep reminding yourselves that no matter what, you’re doing great. Where you are now doesn’t define you, and you always have a CHOICE to be better. You have a CHOICE to let that anxiety...that negativity....that comparison control your life and your emotions. So what are you choosing today?! ⁣

For those of you that don’t know, I am independently contracted with a company called Nutrition in Motion.🍎 Being part of a team of private practice dietitians nationwide has helped me grow so much in my own practice!

I truly believe that the second you think you know it all, is the moment when you stop learning and you stop growing. Just like with anything in life, experience is so valuable! So if you have also felt that pressure to know all the answers, take a step back➡️

💭Find a mentor that has been in the field longer than you
💭Ask ALL the questions
💭And soak in as much information as you can!

Don’t shut yourself from opportunities by feeling like you have to go through things alone🤍
