I struggled for years  with eating healthy. I would start a fad diet and stick to it for 3 months before flying off the rails undoing all my hard work. This is the first time in my life I love what I’m eating and I’ve never been in better shape. Everyone needs to change their perception about being on a “diet”. Get rid of the word diet and start to live a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

  • Happy Humpday and back to the grind. Gave myself a day of rest after having to drop down in weight last week. Call it muscle or mental fatigue but the weights were so much heavier than usual. I took it as a hint that I needed to give them a little more rest then usual. Does anyone else find themselves taking a step or two back when your workout suffers failure to achieve your normal maximum set and rep?  Again I took it as my body saying slow down!  Today I was back to my normal last set to finish the workout and yes it still felt really heavy. lol #dontgiveup #neverquit #progress #getinshape #dothework #gymlife

  • A nice and easy 1.5 miles tonight - just enough to give the body a slight break while adding to both the new, baby streak and the 80 mile challenge. 

I know 2020 has kinda sucked, but I hope y’all know how lucky I consider myself. I love knowing such a great group of people to draw inspiration from and to share ups and downs with, while not worrying about judgment.  Please #besafe my friends and have a great week. Much #love and #Aloha to all🤙

  • 🔥GOALS 🔥
It’s something that we use in our everyday lives and helps us stay accountable. The goals may be short term or long term either way the path to achieve those goals isn’t always easy but it’s worth it!!

Be proud of how hard you are working. Sure there are moments where we all want to quit but don’t you dare throw in the towel. Lately I have been thinking about my goals and how I never imagined I’d be where I am today. But when I hear someone tell me how proud they are of my hard work and dedication it fuels me to go further and work harder. 
•

I also always try to remind myself of the verse Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through christ who strengthens me”. It reminds me that even when I loose my strength or may struggle Gods got my back, not only in weightlifting but in life.

For anyone else who may be struggling with achieving their goals or motivation here are two tips that may help you. 

1. Make a Plan: Having a clear and set plan to follow helps a ton. Like a set list of workouts for example chest & bis. Or a meal plan designed with meals to have for the week.
2. Have a support group: Whether that’s working out with friends or hiring a personal trainer it adds additional accountability and support. Personally for me working with a personal trainer has been a huge help in my journey. Also surrounding my self with great people who are also into fitness and there to keep me working towards my goals. If you are needing a reference, contact me and I can get you in touch with trainers I know.

  • The other day, one of my girlfriends was asked on her IG Story Q&A: ‘What made you the person you are today?’
.
Her response: ‘Everything. The same as you. Our experiences build and shape who we are. Our failures, traumas, mistakes, wins, accomplishments and past memories are what create [our] unique character.’
.
She was spot on! Everything we experience - good or bad - creates us for who we are 🧬
.
But it got me thinking. As much as love and cherish the good times, we spend so much time feeling regret and repentance for our failures, our mistakes, our traumas, and our moments of weakness - when really we should be grateful for them. 
.
Because without those moments, we wouldn’t be the people we are today. We wouldn’t have learnt such valuable lessons. We wouldn’t have progressed. 
.
Whatever happened, happened for a reason! Find a way to accept those times and move on, because without them, you wouldn’t have learnt how to be the person you are today. 💓
