  • This Eid we are going minimalistic ✨ We are learning to make the best out of what we have. Getting creative in old clothes and making them look pretty, enjoying simple things at home and nature given those are the outmost luxuries we have these days 🇱🇧 
.
Speaking of, Kissthespoon does not have any new item for Eid. But, we are sharing with you FEW ways on how to repurpose our FUDGE 🤗vegan, GF, fudgy, dark and made with date sugar
.
🍰 Heat them for 30s in microwave
.
🍦 Have them as a stack with some salted caramel ice cream or a chocolate sorbet - I once had an amazing one from @orsobiancogelateria 🥰
.
🍫 Add a chocolate drizzle. You can melt some chocolate or make your own: In a pot, have 1/4 cup melted hot coconut oil. Then add 1/4 cacao powder and 1/8 maple syrup. Whisk and pour hot!!
.
🧁You can also cut our fudge into cubes. Add to ice cream or your morning oat bowl. Order direct 81 718 460 or on Toters. See you 😍

  • #challengeaccepted Women have been empowering other women by tagging each other and requesting to post pictures of themselves in black and white ✋🏻But, let’s keep it colorful 🌈 We don’t need a bold statement to get noticed. I feel the more we are doing this, the more we are reinforcing the fact that we are not empowered. We were born with an amazing power. Yet, it was taken from or lost to some 💔
.
I took this challenge because I never got the chance to speak about womanhood. You may not know but I have worked 4 years in advertising, on womanhood camapaigns, specifically on women’s period and what comes with it from shame, loss of confidence, loss of dreams, compromised education and marriage. I have traveled to Mexico, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, and virtually to Saudi, India & Nigeria to learn about women! ✨✨
.
Shoutout to those under-privileged women and to those who might find it hard to afford a box of pads nowadays and to have the luxury to change it often.
.
Shoutout to those who are putting the health of others before theirs. But please don’t forget about yours.
.
Shoutout to the extremely intelligent ones who have been felt a threat and have not been given the fair attention.
.
Shoutout and hugs to those who are being sexually harrased and feeling guilty for who they are.
.
Shoutout to those who are oppressed and not given the chance to access proper education and chase their dreams.
.
Shoutout to those mothers who want us to have better days than theirs, to shine and make them proud.

Women are the world because they bring to the world the other half, men. I can never see a world allowing women to add to the world their divine touch, if men are not raised on that too ❤️❤️❤️

  • #healthhacks FIVE tips to eat well ON A BUDGET - and which actually will do great to your health! 🌈😋

🏠 Invest in homemade cooking: We tend to order food when we’re short on time and are very hungry to make our own food. To save time and money, start prepping in the weekend. 
- —>Spare 1 to 3 hours, as much as you can, even little time counts. Cook some grains, wash a few vegetables, cook one big batch and eat it for 2-3 days, make hummus or baked falafel that can last up to 5 days.
- —> Mix lots of chickpeas and white beans with sundried tomato and tomato paste to make vegan falafel served with salad. Make a veggie stew. Roast some veggies
. 
🐟 Let the meat and fish be served as a condiment, versus a main. What makes Asians healthy is that they eat animal protein in moderation and eat more plants. So learn some ways to eat more exciting veggies. One new veggie recipe a week is a great start 🙌🏻

⚡️Learn to repurpose your food leftovers, so you feel you’re creating many options out of one meal. Let’s say you have some Chicken fajita leftovers. They can be eaten as a wrap/sandwich, or served with side rice and guacamole, or thrown into a pan with eggs and vegetables
.
🥑 🥦When ordering a take-away, you can opt for a half portion or a topless version, save money, and use food from your house to make it more filling. I like to add my own lentils, sauted broccoli, avocado, chicken or baked falafel
.
😇 Be a smart shopper
—> Buy in bulk. Big supermarkets have saving bags of rice, grains, almonds, etc.. so a visit once a month is so worth it!
—> Frozen vegetables are just as nutritious as fresh, available year-round even when they're not in season, and save you time
—> Buy canned pulses, chickpeas, fava beans, red beans, etc. Unlike canned fruits, they don’t contain sugar, and have a long shelf life because of the absence of air inside and save you great time in cooking. Also, if you’re vegan, use the chickpea water to make cakes or mousse. It helps in adding fluffiness!

This week has been crazily loaded. My hamstrings are killing me right now 🤭 standing for hours at the Kitchen. We have been working hard to restock all the shelves and online stores. Lucy got sick 😔 Souad is being trained. I had friends and family coming over to help me this week to keep the feel-good rolling! Thanks a million to those beautiful people: Mazen, Lyne, Mira, Lea, Omar and Winnie!! You are a great feel-good community 💘

  • #khaymoment is when we feel healthy, isn’t it true? ⚡️ If you want to simplify the definition of healthy food, you should look at how it makes you feel at every meal, every day and week after week 💘
.
Do you notice you have more energy, you wake up fresh and in a happy mood? Are you excited about your day? Are you connecting with people around you and getting some joy from those connections? Are you happy when you move your body? Do you feel there is vitality, happiness, lightness and excitement in life? (although we don’t always score 100% on those).
.
If the answer is “yes most of the time”, then give credits to the food you’re having. 
.
Some food can nourish your body more than your soul, some food can nourish your soul more than your body! Eventually, it is the same. 
.
Nourish yourself to nourish your life.
.
P.S: Apart from food, #khaymoment is when we live our life purpose and when we bring joy and growth to it. On that note, I have a little business update I will be sharing tomorrow,  regarding KTS kitchen. I feel it is the right thing to do at this time for a better joy, better growth and a better feel-good for KTS community: me, partners, customers and the online community 💕

1/4 cup milk of choice + 1/2 medium avocado + 1 ripe and large banana + 1 cup frozen blackberries + 1 generous TBSP peanut butter + 1 generous TBSP chia seeds + 1 TBSP honey
.
Put all the ingredients in a strong blender with milk first and touching the blades. Blend all together. Pause to mix all the ingredients again before blending one more time. Add splash of milk if needed to smoothen the mix. For toppings, you can addd banana, granola and peanut butter

🛏 Get at least 7 hours of sleep and go to bed early, that matters too! Rest is often considered an indulging activity but is also healing and restorative to your whole wellbeing. 
.
👖👚Pick clothes that make you get into the mood of “I feel light, happy, good and comfy!” You are not impressing anyone. This is a time to get in tune with YOUR feelings
.
🌳 Get out in nature for a hike, walk, or spend the day the beach 🌊 Connecting with fresh air and colors undoubtly re-energizes a tired mind
.
🥒 Experiment with greens, get excited about that! They have great antioxidants which are crucial at times of strees and fatigue. Get that green juice, smoothie, veggie stew, and nourish salad bowls!
.
🤸🏻‍♂️Take a rest from extreme movement but move and connect! Doing HIIT training when you are tired will push your adrenals to pump more of the stress hormones, which will make you feel more tired, get sick and behind your health goals. It will also affect your metabolism
.
🌀Your blood has to flow to your whole body so it can reset itself and function properly. Book a massage session or do 10 min circular movements on the areas of pain (+aromatic essential oil) while watching series!

🚗 Make a playlist of all of your favorite songs. Have a cruise and sing along!

لأني كنت بمكان او حالة سيئة مع نفسي. كنت حس اني ضحية نفخة ، خاف من أنواع كتيرة من الاكل ، وأكتر شي خاف إلبس الجينز المفضل عندي، احسن ما بعدين اكتشف اني ما قادرة بَكْلو. كنت آكل البرغر والبراونيز، وتاني يوم إبقى بالتخت، تِلعى نفسي، وعيش عالماء او  ملاعق من لبن أكتيفيا ، بس !! محزن!

بوقتها، انا دمرت تانيا. تانيا كان لازم يكون عندا تألق وتكون عمتبتكر  بشكل إيجابي. هالعدم التوافق مع انا شو بدي ما كان شعور حلو ابدا
.
لما لقيت الشفاء من خلال الطعام الإيجابي والمغذي بالبداية ، شعرت بالحرية. شعرت بسعادة لدرجة اني شعرت بالخفة والثقة وحب اني عيش لنفسي. يا ريت فيني أشرح كيف أنو الشعور بالصحة بحسسكن إنو انتو عل قمة جبل وصلتولو وقادرين تحققو كتير

    لأني كنت بمكان او حالة سيئة مع نفسي. كنت حس اني ضحية نفخة ، خاف من أنواع كتيرة من الاكل ، وأكتر شي خاف إلبس الجينز المفضل عندي، احسن ما بعدين اكتشف اني ما قادرة بَكْلو. كنت آكل البرغر والبراونيز، وتاني يوم إبقى بالتخت، تِلعى نفسي، وعيش عالماء او ملاعق من لبن أكتيفيا ، بس !! محزن!

    بوقتها، انا دمرت تانيا. تانيا كان لازم يكون عندا تألق وتكون عمتبتكر بشكل إيجابي. هالعدم التوافق مع انا شو بدي ما كان شعور حلو ابدا

    لما لقيت الشفاء من خلال الطعام الإيجابي والمغذي بالبداية ، شعرت بالحرية. شعرت بسعادة لدرجة اني شعرت بالخفة والثقة وحب اني عيش لنفسي. يا ريت فيني أشرح كيف أنو الشعور بالصحة بحسسكن إنو انتو عل قمة جبل وصلتولو وقادرين تحققو كتير

    بعدين ، اكتشفت مصادر تانية للشفاء: تمارين تنفس ، وزيادة اكل نباتي ، والمزيد من الحب ، والحب الذاتي ، والرعاية الذاتية (عم بشتغل على هيدا الموضوع بالذات 🤷🏻‍♀️)

2020 has been an emotional roller coaster for me. To be honest, many people came into my life and others have left it. Lots of my dreams, aspirations, and feelings are being revisited, I feel I have a new mindset that is becoming. My work, home, health and country have changed. Nothing remains the same, except for our willingness to find beauty in life.

So, don’t worry about the change you are dealing with right now. Things happen for a good reason but we have to act upon this belief! Goodness comes when we decide to create it! ❤️
