  • Major Virk from the British Columbia Regiment pauses to communicate to soldiers in the rear during a ruck march along the Baden Powell Trail in North Vancouver

If you're working in one of the remote locations with reserves contact your local PSP to get a rucking progression program to get back into the swing of things.
Nicholas Pyke (Calgary, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Lethbridge), Sean Hommersen (Mainland BC), Rayna Sharma (all Alberta and Edmonton personnel that are located outside of CFB Edmonton)

  • Did you know I’ve had more than 15 jobs in my life? Yup you heard that right. And I’m only 27 lol.

I started working when I was 14 at Tacotime cause my parents always took us there and I thought it would be a cool place to work. I was manning the drive thru at 14 lmao (also still go to Tacotime to this day, loveee it 😌😌)

Anyway. If you would’ve asked me when I was 14 if I would be doing what I was doing now, I would’ve not believed you. I’ve finally found something that serves me.

It’s okay to hop around and not stick to the same job. Be creative in what you do, you never know what you might end up doing ☺️

  • We arrived on the shores of Elsay Lake during a downpour of rain. Our boots and jackets were soaked through; the trails were muddy and the rain-clouds cast the lake in pale miserable lighting.
.
The next morning gave way to a bit of sun. The lake warmed and the forest dried producing a thick layer of rising mist. It's moments like this when I'm glad to have brought my camera along. #pnwphotographer

  • I really wanted to get one of those reflection photos that are so popular in Alberta and B.C but I never seem to be in the right place at the right time. I tried to mimic this by merging two photos in photoshop. I first took one photo without me (settings: F/16, 4Sec, ISO200 on a tripod & with an ND filter). Having a longer shutter speed made the choppy water look smooth. Then I was able to snap a photo of me on sitting on the tree. After I edited both I brought them into photoshop. I layered the photos (without me on top of the one with me). I brought down the opacity of the the first one to 50% so I could see where I was underneath and erased where I was. This is more time consuming than hard).
Although I didn’t end up with a reflection picture I still really liked the results. Photography is a lot of trial and error. If you can imagine it you can create it. Hope you liked this BTS of my photo. Stay creative my sexy humans🤜🤜

  • Hey y’all, I know it’s been a long time since I last posted anything, and I just wanted to apologize for not being as active as I used to be on this platform.

Before I explain anything, first of all I just wanted to thank my good friend and brother @johnstolze for helping me get back up on my feet, and reigniting my creative flame with letting me get back into editing by starting out on his amazing photography work.
During the early stages of Covid-19, I lost my creative spark & will to pick up my camera.
These last couple of months took a major toll on me as I lost one of my main sources of happiness and creativity.

These last couple of months my mental state hasn’t been the best as I’ve been running through life, away from my problems and not facing any of it.
These couple of months I remember being at one of my lowest points in my life where I lost all hope and will to be alive...

On the bright side of things, during the last couple of weeks I’ve been reflecting on everything that’s been going on in my life and I’ve come to realize that we only have so much time on this earth, so lately I’ve been working on just letting the simple things make me happy, and just trying to find my inner happiness and just really appreciating my friends, my family, and the people that care and support me.
