  • SWIPE It’s #fundingfriday! Read the caption, save this post and share with the women you want to win with!

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I believe that grad school admission and scholarship requires careful planning. If you rush in without the right strategy, you might be disappointed.

This is my number 1 tip for scholarships. You can take it to THE BANK. “Closed opportunities are GREAT opportunities.” Why? Even if an opportunity is closed, it is likely to open again. In the meantime, you have time to prepare and plan to be super competitive when the scholarship opens again! Don’t underrate this tip. I’m a living testimony of its efficacy. You don’t want to be running around because you found an opportunity two days to the deadline.

If you plan to apply to grad school this fall and you are not already on your A game by searching for opportunities and making a note of them, you are most likely already falling behind.

What other content would you like me to share with you and should I make #fundingfriday a thing? Don’t forget to tag the women you want to win!

P.S. I’m a PEO scholar too😊

  • I met this young lady named Deborah Okhah @okhahdeborah at the United Nations day Lagos event in 2019. I was invited as a speaker to that event to speak about SDG 4: Education. I stayed behind to entertain some questions and discussion from youths in the SDG space. She was one of those who patiently waited behind to speak with me. We had a very long discussion and she asked a lot of questions about the SDGs. She wanted to know how she could start her journey in the SDGs space. She is a teacher who is passionate about the profession. She wants to play a role in the education sector but she needed mentorship. She asked and I obliged. I do not take mentorship of youths for granted especially if it is an area I have success and failures. We kept in touch since then and I offer some guardiance from time to time. Some weeks ago, she reached out to me about what she is working on and how she would love for me to speak at this event. I gave her some pointers on the organization and I am so proud of her pulling this off. This is me inviting you all as a parent, student or teacher with a stake in the educational sector to join the conversation by registering for this webinar. Be my guest. Click the link in bio to register.

Something is coming for the youths via I-Train Africa, I am excited about this one. Who can guess what it is?.😁😁😁🤔🤔

  • On June 16, 1976, nearly ten thousand black students from Soweto, South Africa, marched the streets to protest the poor quality of their education. They marched as a way to demonstrate their disapproval of the Black Education Act, which segregated students based on their race.

Hundreds of innocent students were shot by security forces. And in the 2 weeks of protest that followed, dubbed the Soweto Uprising, more than a hundred students were killed and thousands were badly injured

Since 1991, the Day of the African Child has been celebrated on June 16 to commemorate those killed during the Soweto Uprising in South Africa, and to recognize the courage of the students who marched for their right to an education.
The Day of the African Child is also an opportunity to raise awareness for the ongoing need to improve the education of children living across Africa. It’s a need that still very much exists today. Of the 57 million primary school age children currently out of school around the world, over half are from sub-Saharan Africa.

Over 1 billion tires are manufactured annually, made of synthetic rubber, natural rubber, carbon black, polyester fabric, and steel wire. Tires stay in the environment a long time. As part of DTI Green-thinking
Education, students are taught to think outside the box and learn how to recycle such materials.
This Eagle, entirely made out recycled tires is an example of some of the beautiful sculptures created with tires on the DTI campus right here in Accra. Not only is it meant to beautify the campus but also serve as a conversation

  • At DTI we strongly believe in the power of recycling and we embody that agenda whole heartedly. Nothing is every truly useless after it exceed its originally intended purposes.
    Starter for the green-economy agenda.
