  • Double session Friday! Nice little paced set run in the morning. Followed by a gassy pressing piece, some nice accessories and a conditioning piece that made me think holy shoulders batman in the first movement. 

Finally feel like I have direction in training with now being on the athlete programming with @aod_fitness 

Today’s training:
8sets 90 seconds rest between:
1 strict press + 2 push Press + 3 Split jerk
Build in weight last set at 85kg (this was surprisingly gassy towards the end)

Build to a heavy 5 rep strict pull up managed 33kg failed 40kg got 3 reps in.

4 rounds 
5 reps Banded Pendlay row 
Rest 30 seconds
15 Dual DB Push Press at 22.5kg rest 90 between sets

Workout
12 minute AMRAP
50ft reverse bear crawl DB drag
20 Burpees over the DB
25 ft s/a DB overhead lunges swap arm and repeat

  • Do this LAST on your push or shoulder day!

Grab a relatively heavy dumbbell (much heavier than what you do side laterals with) and do cheating single arm side laterals until failure. Immediately after - with the same arm - do a single arm DB press to failure. Switch arms and repeat the process.
.
Try not and hip thrust too much but use a little body momentum to get that weight up.
.
For reference, I typically do DB side laterals for 8-12 reps and I do these with 40-50 pound dumbbells.

After 50 days of working toward a specific goal of building muscle mass and getting stronger, the results are in!

It’s official. The #InBody scan results show positive progress toward my goals.

Checking in with my goals and tracking progress encourages me to continue training. It’s been an amazing feeling seeing what my body is actually capable of! 💪

Which brings me to the real results...

💥I can exercise without symptoms of leakage or prolapse
💥I can lift heavier, am feeling stronger
💥I can do movements I couldn’t do before
💥You don’t have to put your athleticism away postpartum, especially if you have great coaches, trainers, PTs, etc guiding you
.
The hardest part of all...
.
❤️getting started, overcoming fear, and getting out of my own way
.
I’ve loved tapping into my athlete mindset, getting uncomfortable, creating new habits, and learning a ton along the way
.
❗️Now, after tracking my health goals, I need to get down to tracking the goals in other areas of life❗️
.
✅Comment a goal you’re working on! What are you doing to help you stay on track? Writing it down. Telling someone. Setting a deadline. Other goal-setting strategies?
