  • Chicken Lollipop🍗

Chicken Lollipop can be made so easily at home! And you’ll know exactly what’s going into the batter. This is another restaurant style recipe that tastes even better homemade😍

Ingredients:-

6 full-size chicken wings
2 cups oil, for frying (500 mL)

MARINADE

2 teaspoons chilli powder
2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Batter:-

½ cup flour (60 g)
½ cup cornflour (60 g)
1 tablespoon chilli powder
1 egg
¼ cup water (60 mL)

Preparation:-

1.Add all the marinade ingredients to a bowl and mix until fully combined, set aside.

 2.Place the prepared chicken lollipops in the marinade. Stir and cover. Marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

3.Mix all batter ingredients until smooth without lumps.

4.Dip the meat end of the chicken lollipops into the batter.

5.In a medium-sized pot, heat the oil to 170˚C (340˚F). Deep fry the chicken for 5 minutes or until the batter becomes golden brown and the chicken is cooked throughout.

6.Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

WHISKEY SAUCE
8 strips bacon cut into pieces
1/2 medium yellow onion
1/2 ounce whiskey
1/2 cup golden brown sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp black pepper

FOR THE BURGER
1 lb 80/20 ground beef a heavy pound if you want bigger burgers
2 slices cheese
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

INSTRUCTIONS:

FOR THE WHISKEY SAUCE
In a skillet on medium heat, cook down your bacon; about 10 minutes. Set bacon aside.
in the same skillet, brown your onions for about 5 minutes, then add brown sugar. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Add whiskey, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Let this cook down for about 2-3 minutes. simmer on the side burner while the burgers are cooking.

FOR THE BURGER
Form about quarter lb patties (I prefer third pound) season each side with salt and pepper.
With your grill heated to about 450F, place your burgers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
flip and place off heat. Cook for another 5-6 minutes with cheese melting on top.
Place burgers on burns with lettuce, and top with that whiskey sauce. Enjoy!

  • Chicken chowmein!
I love noodles, and from many days I wanted to try chinese 😋
I ordered chicken chowmein, but asked them to put veggies too. It was really nice of them to do so.

But I don’t think I will ever eat chowmein from Sindhri again. It wasn’t that bad, but won’t preffer it. Rather, they have other good things which I will be sharing soon 😄
I really liked the ambience, they are using masks and spraying inside the halls again and again. 🍝

  • Dinner tonight was a delicious tuna stir fry (@sainsburys now sell tuna chunks!) with beansprouts, mixed peppers and Amoy rice noodles cooked in soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger and mirrin, and served with rice crackers.   • Dinner tonight was a delicious tuna stir fry (@sainsburys now sell tuna chunks!) with beansprouts, mixed peppers and Amoy rice noodles cooked in soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, ginger and mirrin, and served with rice crackers.   • Wonton noodles and eggs for Sunday Fun Day. A meal that takes 20 minutes at most, which includes the time to boil water for the noodles.

Time for a break from all the summer tomatoes and cherries I’ve been eating with an umami bomb oyster sauce lo mein, fried egg, scallions, ground beef, and loads of Taiwanese style chili oil with caramelized shallots.

The Cantonese style noodles was inspired by @soupedup_recipes from her recent YouTube video. 

I’ve made this twice now in the last few days and it’s been a huge hit with my difficult-to-please husband. Those who know the deliciousness of oyster sauce know how good this extremely simple dish is and just how little effort it takes to prepare and serve.

If you’re looking for genius recipes that tastes great and takes little time, I would highly recommend you watch @soupedup_recipes short video. My adaptation is as follows, serving 2:

2 portions, about 300 g of fresh egg noodles. I used fresh wonton noodles from the Chinese grocery store.

1 bunch of green onions
3 tablespoons of oyster sauce
1-2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce
2 cloves of garlic minced on a microplane 
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 teaspoon of toasted sesame seed oil
1/4 pound of ground beef mixed and season with 1 teaspoon of soy sauce. The meat is optional.

In a small bowl, measure out and mix together the oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, and sugar. Set aside.

Chop the whites of the green onions in one inch length pieces while finely chopping the green ends to use as a fresh garnish when serving the noodles. 

While boiling water in a saucepan to cook your noodles, prepare a wok/frying pan on another element on medium high heat. Pour in 1 tablespoon of your oil and brown the seasoned ground beef. Once that is almost cooked toss in the whites of the green onions to cook. 
 
Turn the heat down to medium, add the rest of the oil.

Add cooked noodles into the beef and onions, followed by the sauce mixture. Toss and evenly distribute the sauce, noodles and meat together. This should only take about 4 to 5 minutes.

Serve with fried egg, drizzle with chili oil, and chopped green onions.

  • PEANUT & CRISPY CHILLI NOODLES 🍜

Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a lovely refreshing weekend 🤗 Lunch today was this quick bowl of saucy noodles which totally hit the spot. It’s spicy and slightly sweet and lots of veg has been packed in for some extra goodness 🌱 Recipe below for 2 portions 👇🏽

1️⃣ Cook 2 portions of noodles in boiling water and strain. Pop a little sesame oil on top and mix through to prevent them from sticking. 

2️⃣ In a bowl add 1/2 tbsp of crunchy peanut butter, 1/2 tbsp sesame oil, 1 tbsp light soya sauce, 1/4 tbsp of rice wine vinegar and 1 tsp of crispy chilli oil or peanuts in chilli oil (I used the trusty Laoganma sauce). Mix well into a paste and if you need to add a tiny bit of boiling water to loosen it, do so.

3️⃣ To a wok or frying pan add 2 finely chopped cloves of garlic, half a fresh chopped long red chilli and finely chopped 3cm piece of ginger. Cook for 2 mins then add 10 chopped cherry tomatoes, a handful of mangetout and 7cm piece of cucumber sliced into batons. Season with half tbsp of light soy and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stirfry for 2-3 minutes.

4️⃣ Add your sauce to your cooked noodles and mix through well. Then add your cooked veg and plate up. Top with a fried egg and some sesame seeds.
