  • "When we visualize breathing into body areas it is not just visualisation. We know now from neuroanatomy that when we focus our attention on a particular body part & breath into it, the metabolic rate of that body part goes up, there's greater oxygenation, there's greater exchange of nutrients & neurological functioning improves. Bringing awareness into body areas enhances our interoception : our capacity to sense the Body from the inside & experiencing the internal nuances from gross to subtle, of the soma. With each practice we are increasing our neurological capacity for interoception. Our thinking mind and the vast field of awareness that is our body are not well consciously connected in most of us. The mediating structures that bring information from the Body to the left brain ie.the corpus collosum & other structures are actually fairly fragile & they tend to atrophy when we don't pay regular attention to our body. But when we start to do these practices we start creating a healthy creative interchange between body & the conscious mind."

  • How can exercise help in losing weight? 🤔⠀
⠀
Fat cells accumulate a hormone called Leptin that is released into the blood and sets up a subacute state of inflammation. You are probably realising by now that this can heighten pain sensitivity and tenderness to touch.⠀
In the brain Leptin suppresses your basal metabolic rate, therefore your metabolism slows down and you use less energy and can’t burn fats. Sugars and grains in the diet turn to fats in the bloodstream called triglycerides and stimulate more Leptin. The more sugars or carbohydrates you eat, the more you slow down your ability to burn fats.⠀
⠀
The good news is, even gentle exercise reduces Leptin and triglycerides, increases your ability to burn fats, and reduces inflammation associated with obesity. Combined with a balanced diet avoiding refined sugars you can dramatically change your life.⠀
⠀
💡 Have you been having trouble losing weight? You don’t have to be too hard on yourself and follow a strict diet or do strenuous workouts every day to achieve a fit and healthy body. You have to know your body type first and which diet suits you best. Message me to know more! 🤗⠀

  • WRIST PAIN 👆

The more consistent you make it (as in - every day before you workout 👌) the less you’ll have to spend 10 minutes doing it daily.
Just do some reps!
5 each? 10?!

SAVE IT
TRY IT OUT 🙌
Listen to your body.
And tag some friends you know who struggle with this as well!👇

ASSESS, DON’T GUESS!
The more we assess (seeing a professional or at least learning some self-assessments!), the more we begin to understand and take control back of our own body.

Let me know how you do!👇
Is it flat?!
Do you have some work to do 😬

When in plank or push-up, we are putting quite the load from our body into wrists.
Without adequate range (both passive and active) in those wrists, we end up compressing into a joint that isn’t quite ready to take on that pressure.
Do that enough and it’s quite obvious why pain could start developing.

  • ⭐Pelvic Floor⭐

If you suffer from low back pain, have hip issues, incontinence, or possibly have a "weak" core here is a great exercise to help your brain and body reconnect understand where/what your pelvic floor is.
~~

The diaphragm and the pelvic floor have a pressure relationship. When the diaphragm descends, the pelvic floor descends. When the diaphragm is elevated, the pelvic floor is elevated. These contribute to pelvic floor muscle hypertonicity, which means there is excessive tension and tightness in these muscles.
~~

Pelvic floor muscles need to be flexible to work as part of the ‘core’, which means that they need to be able to relax as well as lift and hold.
~~~
The balloon allows you to focus on moving the pressure up and down in order to re-train the diaphragm and the pelvic floor to work in synchronicity.
~~~
Moral the story - if you have a pelvic floor problem you have a breathing problem!

  • Magnesium is an essential mineral required by the body for muscle and nerve function, maintaining heart rhythm, building strong bones and energy production. The secretion and action of insulin also require magnesium. Magnesium is actually responsible for over 300 enzyme reactions and is found in all of your tissues — but mainly in your bones, muscles, & brain. You must have it for your cells to make energy, for many different chemical pumps to work, and to stabilize membranes.
Where do we get magnesium from?
Good sources of magnesium
* green leafy vegetables – such as spinach. 🥬🥦
* nuts.🥥🌰
* Seeds 🥜
* brown rice.🍚
* bread (especially wholegrain)🍞🥖
* fish.🍤 🐟
* meat.🥩🍖
* dairy foods.🥛🧀
If you’re really not sure you’re getting enough supplement. It’s one of the most important vitamins that the majority tend to be deficient in.

  • Chest opener💫
.
One of my favorite ways to get the pecs and biceps feeling limber is with this prone chest opener.
.
Often times as our days progress we end up rounding our shoulders in and down. heyo computer work.
.
This should get you some space to help immediately and then allow for a greater range with your midback strengthening.

  • Rocking is another prerequisite to crawling. If you place your baby into a 4-point position, watch them challenge their balance and weight shift in preparation to move! Babies often move backwards before they move forwards and use their arms to push back whilst they learn the correct motor pattern to alternate their hand and leg movements to successfully craw

Babies typically learn to crawl from around 7+months, remembering each child is unique and will do things in their own time, however if at any point in your child's development you have any concerns, speak to a children's physiotherapist who will be able to observe your child's movements and see if what support or advice they may benefit from

  • Hive mind!
Lets talk.

Okay, story first ::

Yesterday my Lover texted me asking if he could use a pair of my panties to make into a face-mask. Yea, he’s rad.
“Sure babe, absolutely”.

So, as I planned to be passing through town anyways, I went upstairs and sifted through my collection --
I gave him options, burgundy and black, both lace.

And, as I was looking through my lingerie basket, I noticed a pair that I haven’t worn in a while - black lace thong.

I put it on and breezed out the door so as to be on time for my appointment.

And then, later, in the evening I pulled up to my River Spot in the Valley with this thong, cut up, in my hands.
This damn thong.

So, let me tell you what gets my panties in a twist.

As I started driving up the dirt road, I dropped into my body, I started breathing deeply…
Dropping in, dropping in..
And as I did, I realized how phenomenally uncomfortable that thong was.

Now, don’t get me wrong,
I love a good black lace thong.
#everydaywear
BUT.
What the f*ck is actually sitting here between my legs?

It was itchy, sore, aggravating.
I could hear my pussy screaming for help. Suffocated.

I pulled over, grabbed my pocket knife from my purse and without hesitation cut those panties right off me.

Ick!
Elastic, polyester, synthetic something something panties.
Ouch.

First, anger :
Who decided to put these synthetic prisons on our pussies!?

Then, the softer, deeper question :
What can I do about it?
How can I, in my own life, find more accessible natural-fiber sexy lush undergarments?
And, how can I promote a conversation and awareness around the importance of reproductive health and the quality of care that we provide our bodies?

So -- the question that I’d love your feedback on is this ::
What natural-fibre, affordable and accessible undergarments do you know of?
How do you access them? (online or in your community?)
Do you actually feel sexy and yummy and confident in them?

Tag conscious companies in the comments below!
Lemme know!

    Lemme know!

  • Rico got to really use his brain today when we took him on a long walk to the park, where we introduced him to all sorts of surfaces, having him jump up, and navigate through playground equipment and under benches. On our walk back, he was exposed to loud gardening crews with leaf blowers, trucks, and even a massive fire truck, which in the past may have spooked him, but today, his recovery was phenomenal.

It has been so rewarding to see the massive bounds Rico has made in his training since he was a pup, and I have my partner and trainer to thank for it, since I was too sick to be present in the past, but it is my resolution to be there more for Rico moving forward as much as my conditions will allow. He’s a very smart dog with a lot of potential, and I want to be present and involved in his success.

  • Even in "the best families" there are secrets kept that continue to hurt our lineage, causing illnesses, repetitive behavior patterns, and situations that we do not seem to understand. ⁣
⁣
It is time to release and stop keeping all those secrets that sometimes we attribute to loyalty or it’s a way to avoid confronting the fear of “What will they say", and are kept generation after generation causing deep damage in the new generations.⁣
⁣
We pay a high price for keeping those secrets because it hurts to confront that in our families there are or have been murderers, rapists and/or rapes, infidelities, adoptions, prison, mental illness, suicide, stolen inheritances, addictions, abandonment, heartbreak, etc.⁣
⁣
But if we become AWARE that we are carrying unresolved trauma, we begin to have options. If we don’t heal those wounds, they will continue to present themselves and passed on to the next generation so they can deal with them. ⁣
⁣
Maybe it is you who gets to break those cycles and heal those wounds❤️. I see you, thank you for being here ❤️. ⁣

  • Different people will respond in different ways to the same event. It is never a choice of how a body responds to an activating event relate to trauma.⁣
⁣
We also need to remember that there is often trauma that is unknown. It is essential that this is taken into consideration. Individuals may not remember the event but their bodies will. There are many reasons why somebody might not remember a traumatic event some reasons are:⁣
⁣
Very early developmental trauma ⁣
⁣
An event that they dismissed as being insignificant. ⁣
⁣
It may not be a single response to an event that was overwhelming but an accumulation across the years of repeated similar or different events.⁣
⁣
We all need emphatic, non-judgmental, supportive, and safe people. ⁣
⁣
All of you make sense. Your reactions make sense. You are not “crazy,” you have unresolved trauma. ⁣

  • Let me start by saying that I don’t have anything against exercising. I find it to be a wonderful coping tool. But, I also see many people using this coping skill as a way to not feel their emotions. ⁣
⁣
Tell me if any of this sounds familiar:⁣
I shouldn’t feel this way⁣
Why can’t I just stop it?⁣
Come on, suck it up. Don’t be weak.⁣
I want to be don’t feel like this.⁣
Get your sh** together!⁣
Shut up. You’re so stupid.⁣
⁣
When we invalidate or judge our own emotions, we strip them of their ability to teach us.⁣
Uncomfortable emotions like sadness, hurt, grief or anger come to us as smoke signals from the body and brain. They are signs that something is out of alignment in or around us. They don’t just appear out of nowhere and they definitely don’t happen because of some “weakness” within you.⁣
⁣
Many of us were taught that emotions are things to be hidden. We heard words like “crybaby.” We learned that raw anger was “crazy.” We were judged and punished for our feelings. ⁣
⁣
And so we learned to not deal which led us to an inability to cope with emotions as they come… which led us into mental distress, addiction, or even physical problems.⁣
⁣
Everyone feels emotions. What creates true emotional endurance is what we do and think when they come to us.⁣
⁣
When I feel emotional, I check in with myself with a few questions:⁣
1. What happened?⁣
2. What are the thoughts/beliefs that don’t align with my Truth?⁣
3. What story am I telling myself (if any) about what it means to feel this way?⁣
Then, I’ll accept the emotion and allow myself to feel it. ⁣
⁣
Emotions demand to be felt. If you don’t consciously allow the feeling, they will find a way to make themselves known. ⁣

  • I believe in the power of meditation and I love meditating but one thing to remember is that meditation needs to have safety in the background.⁣
⁣
There are enough studies that show that meditation is not the cure-all for trauma. In fact, it could bring on further emotional distress to those who have a history of trauma. ⁣
⁣
According to Dr. Willoughby Britton, who has studied the adverse effects of meditation, ⁣It may trigger trauma or leave people feeling disoriented. She released a study that identified 59 different kinds of negative meditation experiences.⁣
⁣
Asking someone with trauma to pay close, sustained attention to their internal experience, invites them into contact with traumatic stimuli—thoughts, images, memories, and physical sensations that may relate to a traumatic experience. ⁣
⁣
This can aggravate and intensify symptoms of traumatic stress, and in some cases even lead to retraumatization.⁣
⁣
Staying immobile isn’t going to guide everyone into a healing place. Meditation, while beneficial for some people, it is not always the answer for those with trauma histories, especially at the beginning of their journey. ⁣
⁣
Instead focus on mindfulness, a moment-to-moment awareness. Notice the temperature, the pretty things around you, the flavors of the food, the smells of the environment, etc. Just focus on noticing the “right now” from time to time. ⁣
⁣
Remember, You are not broken. ⁣

  • Double tap if you’ve heard this one before!! 🧐

SO many clients guilt themselves into eating protein at every meal. It makes them feel deprived and stuck. How about you?⁣
⁣
I want to show you how to let your food guilt go, starting with some facts:⁣
⁣
1️⃣ Every 10 years the US gov surveys the population to see how things are going nutrition-wise. You know what we consistently find? We eat plenty of protein.⁣
⁣
👉🏻 deficiency is nearly unheard of⁣
👉🏻 on average, we get more than double the minimum need ⁣
⁣
So where did this "protein-at-every-meal" thing even come from? Spoiler alert: it's not about health, it's about weight loss.⁣
⁣
2️⃣ Protein *CAN* help the staying power of meals by offering feelings of fullness. BUT LIKE EVERY OTHER DIET TRICK - it only works for weight loss short-term. Why? Dieting feels miserable AND the body adapts when it realizes: you're restricting again. 🤷‍♀️ A round up of studies on weight loss concluded this:⁣
⁣
"Although shorter-term, tightly controlled feeding studies consistently identified benefits with increased protein consumption, longer-term studies produced limited and conflicting findings"⁣
⁣
I can't find any high quality research to prove this food rule matters long-term. I'll keep looking. But I gotta say - given the popularity of the advice - where is the freakin' source? 😬 ⁣
⁣
When we work together, I help you trust your body, instead of random food rules passed on without a source. With my No Guilt Framework to lean on, here's what a client of mine could now share in our private Facebook group about eating protein at every meal: ⁣
⁣
✨My body didn’t feel like it ... I didn’t have one and didn’t dwell on it. ✨ ⁣
⁣
She feels free without food guilt and you can too. Apply for group coaching and go from stuck in food rules to feeling better in 3 months with empowering women, breaking the diet cycle - just like you✨Link in Bio ✨
