  • Tridosha constitution of our body explained...
One can check his/her body constitution, just go through all the points, try to find them in yourself.....
Eventually when you finish, you will come to know which of the dosha is predominant in your body and which is on second....
Remember we have all 3 doshas in our body....
More or less you'll have all of them.....
Try to find which one are you....

  • Lifestyle choices. How I live day to day. Daily choices are everything.
.
The Ayurveda lifestyle is one that has flow and allows us to understand what is best for today. We are unique and there is no one diet, pill, solution that fits what works for all. If there were then disease and even Coronavirus would be eradicated fast and quickly. The formula that fits you is not the one for me.
.
Ayurveda reveres individualized medicine and why it has lasted over 5,000 years healing the planet and humans. If three people present with a headache, each person will describe many differences about their unique headache problems. Yet society offers the same advice, food, pill, or herb but Ayurveda would treat each headache based the person, not the label. Each recommendation completely unique.
.
Day to day choices add up to what is here now. Lots of small choices add up, we seem to get stuck on larger choices. But in reality the simple lifestyle choices are the ones that lead excellent health.
.
Ayurveda allows to realize life is not limiting but rather as full. Each choice nourishes me and pranafies my whole being. I realize that what is good for me today may not be so next week or month. Todaysโ€™ nectar can be tomorrowโ€™s poison. Each day is unique.
.
Awakening to a lifestyle that flows and meets the whole of you and honors vitality and health is the key to a vibrant life. Let Ayurvedic principles guide you there.

  • In some of the best moments of #medicine, it can feel to both the #doctor and the #patient that something #profound is going on. How do we break that down into components to #examine? How do we #cultivate it? How do we #learn, #teach, #explain, or even talk about it? We may want to #connect in the most #healing and helpful way possible with our #patients, but to talk about it...well, that can feel gauche.โ €
โ €
Given that 2021 is steadily approaching, I wanted to highlight our #Mentorship Program which we hope to run sometime next year. โ €
โ €
Over the years, people have expressed the desire to have a #mentor, or coach, to see them through the #transition from #student to #practitioner, or a forum where practitioners can gain more #community and #confidence. It can be daunting to go from school to practice, or feel isolated in a practice, either having had minimal #clinical or #herbaltraining and minimal practice with #casestudies, or simply little or no interaction with fellow practitioners to discuss cases.โ €
โ €
Our mentorship program was designed, and is being regularly adapted, to address these challenges. We have run this program since 2012. Best way to hear about that is to both sign up for our newsletter on just about any page of this website and to contact office@drclaudiawelch.com and let us know you would like to be kept in the loop. In the meantime, be sure to look at the prerequisites, so you have time to complete those before the next run.โ €

You can find the details, including the prerequisites here: https://buff.ly/2IjG5cCโ €

  • I struggled with unconscious emotional eating for years before I got free.

16 years ago, food was my go to for feelings of boredom, lack of interest in life, and a way to โ€œcheck out.โ€

I didnโ€™t know I had food sensitivities and didnโ€™t know why I kept stuffing myself way past full for years on end.

I felt shame and disgust after eating like this, and a sinking feeling that I would never overcome my sickness. If youโ€™ve ever been an emotional eater, you know what Iโ€™m talking about.

When I started yoga, I started to become more aware of my body and itโ€™s response to food I ate. I soon discovered that a huge staple of my diet was making me sick: milk products, bread and wheat products, and processed snack products.

Once I discovered my diet was all wrong, and my attachment to food as a drug was making me sick, I began a lifelong healing process.

I stopped overeating and stopped gorging myself daily on foods that my body hated. I began to heal my relationship with food.

My study and practice of yoga led me to Ayurveda, an Indian system of whole body health. There I found principles around eating that helped me remove unhealthy attachments to food which I will share tomorrow.

I will also share on Thursday about more recent transformations how scripture put food back in its place for me.

Have you ever struggled with emotional eating or overeating? What ways do you keep food from becoming an addiction?

  • Fennel- foeniculum vulgare.
This beautiful, delicate plant grows well in my garden. I love its gentle aniseed fragrance and its pretty yellow flowers. I use the leaves to flavour eggs, fish and cheese dishes, as well as summery salads, and they make a great alternative to mint when added to baby new potatoes. The flowers look beautiful scattered over foods too. The little seeds, known as saunf in India, are a fantastic digestive aid, and are eaten in Indian households after a meal, to not only aid the digestive process, but also to naturally freshen the mouth.
Ancient Ayurvedic wisdom transports so perfectly to modern life.

  • there is no other healthcare system in the world that offers preventative healthcare protocols as does ฤyurveda.

let's consider our ears & hearing๐Ÿ‘‚

age-related hearing loss, termed presbycusis, is a form of sensorineural hearing loss. after age 50, otic hair cells in the organ of corti tend to degenerate, and the stria vascularis, a capillary-fed layer of stratified epithelium that secretes endolymph and promotes the sensitization of hair cells in the cochlea, may atrophy. these changes first affect perception of high-frequency sounds.

in ฤyurveda, we have the dinacaryฤ - or health-promoting habits of daily living - that all the classical authors describe (refer to my earlier post for a more detailed understanding of dinacaryฤ).

the caraka saแนhitฤ discusses dinacaryฤ in chapter 5 in his sลซtrasthฤna.

ล›loka 84 from this chapter on oiling of the ears reads:
"ear diseases due to vitiated vฤta, torticollis, lock jaw, hardness of hearing and deafness are prevented if oil is regularly dropped into the ears."

from the cradle to the grave, we should be performing these daily habits of self-care to sustain our svastha (health).

ear oiling preserves our hearing and staves off degenerative diseases. vฤta age-related hearing loss, like presbycusis, can be avoided if the ear canals and its hair cells & epithelium are nourished via the use of daily oil drops (i.e. sesame oil).

  • How do you live a balanced life? This is the question Ayurveda always brings us back to. Ayurveda my guiding, North Star is the living science that is eternal in wisdom and basic in practice.
.
Ayurveda helps me time and time again make sense of the world. When all seems lost, confusing, fearful, indigestible or disease labeled and we become confused, Ayurveda brings us back to basic truths. Realities which are actually quite simple, but the mind complicates.
.
There is a cause for every effect. Whatever is manifesting in the mind, body or spirit ....there is cause. There is a cause to impatience, skin rashes, constipation, irritation, cancer, insomnia, depression ,etc. there is a cause and hence the effect.
.
What if you take care of the cause? What if you eradicate the cause? What is the new effect?
.
I love Ayurveda. Get to cause, the root, the heart of it all. Look at it. Remove it.

  • Dreams are a discharge of the nerve cells, the drainage of incomplete thoughts, actions, and feelings. Many times thoughts come during our daily activities, but we are not completely aware of them. Any thought without total awareness is an incomplete thought. The brain cells pick up that incomplete thought, and because incomplete thoughts stay in the brain cells, our brain has to complete these thoughts to restore order.
.
.
One of the functions of Majja Dhatu (nerve tissues) is to drain or complete our incomplete actions. In that way, dreams are necessary. In a dream, you finish unfinished business and the brain is able to restore order.
.
.
Ayurveda says that our dreams are also classified as vata, pitta and kapha. Vata dreams can be active, pitta dreams fiery, and kapha dreams romantic or sweet. If we can classify the dreams and then treat the dosha, itโ€™s possible youโ€™ll see good results.
.
.
We mustnโ€™t separate the body from the mind, because the body and mind are one. In a dream the subconscious mind comes up. If you study your dreams, you can discover the subconscious cause of a disease.

โ
Life is hard. Take it easy on yourself. โ™ฅ๏ธโ
โ
Weโ€™re bound to make mistakes out there. Try as we may to sidestep lifeโ€™s obstacles, things inevitably get thorny, sticky, messy. Relationships are complicated. Itโ€™s hard enough trying to know and understand ourselves, let alone another person. โ

Digging deep takes courage. Whatโ€™s most important is our willingness to take risks, to try, to put ourselves out there. Itโ€™s in those risks, those mistakes and missteps, that we stretch ourselves, learn our limits, and grow. ๐ŸŒฑโ

We have to extend patience, kindness, and forgiveness toward ourselves as we navigate both the world outside and our interior landscape. โ

  • There is no greater feeling than living your Dharma: your spiritual purpose, your duty, the reason you took this birth. My very first dream in life was to be a doctor. In kindergarten I wrote that I wanted to grow up and heal people, thatโ€™s all I knew. After years of testing the waters, pursuing different passions, and looking for my path, I can really say with all certainty I have finally come back to what I have always known myself to be - a healer.

For those of you that donโ€™t know, I am on my way to be a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. And in 2 years, I will be a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner.๐ŸŒฑ To find a holistic healing system that is also consciousness-based and directly a part of my spiritual path (Sanatana Dharma), is a bigger blessing than words can describe.

So here is to a new chapter, as I finish my very first day of Ayurvedic clinic! I am soooo grateful for the opportunity to start training hands on under our incredible professors/doctors. Today is a day I am celebrating me. You can book me for consults starting May 2020!๐Ÿ˜‰ Never give up on your dreams kids. With hard work, dedication, passion, and a heart full of love, all things are possible.

โฃ#Drishti is a technique mentioned by #Krishnamacharya and is integrated into the teachings of great yoga teachers like Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, BKS Iyengar, Desikachar. This idea of focused gaze within a yoga practice has deep and rich meaning.โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃIf we look at it from a more philosophical perspective, Drishti is a technique that can unfold several levels of understanding and that can help any yoga practitioner. โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃAt first glance, this focused vision will help you find your center and connect with stability within your own body. For those who are starting to practice yoga, looking at a fixed point when trying to do the tree pose can determine whether you will be a stable tree or one that is easily knocked down by the wind.โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃWhen you incorporate Drishti into all of your #asanas, you train your mind to stay in the present moment. By allowing the eyes to stop and focus at one point, you are allowing the mind to stop as well. You are teaching yourself how to live experiences as they are presented, even when they are a little (or very) unpleasant. Over time, we developed this same ability to observe and be present in life. โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃThe gift of focused, present attention in everyday life is invaluable in problem-solving, communication, and general living.โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃNow, if you want, you can take this concept and expand it even furtherโ€ฆ. This tool can help create the life you want to live, both inside and outside of your mat. Drishti can teach you to refocus your attention on what matters to you. โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃThis pic was accidentally taken (by my boyfriend who hates taking picturesโ˜บ๏ธ) just after my yoga teaching for my lovely group of students, a few days ago. I think it represents my Drishti to come true.โฃ๐Ÿ–ค
โฃโฃ
โฃEven in difficult moments like now, my Drishti is my focus in life. I want to serve, help, and share my knowledge. Sharing Ayurveda and Yoga makes me happy. โœจ๐Ÿ™โœจ #ayurvedazurich #yogazurich #yogaforall #morethanasana #ayurvedabrasil #ayurvedalifestyle #ayurvedaunveiled #ayurvedicpractitioner #yogaonline #yogalockdown

I cannot say this enough. We need a complete paradigm shift in the way in which we approach healthcare.

Health is about thriving not just surviving. Healthcare should not be accepted as a disease management system but a person-centred wellness programme.

We need to move away from a system of fixing the broken parts and rather adjust the focus on healing the whole. I truly appreciate the desperate need for this shift. Over the last 12 years, I have seen an alarming increase of lifestyle related conditions, due to stress, all sorts of gut health issues, auto-immune conditions, food intolerances and more. It's often hard to pin point the etiology (cause) because the root cause is a myriad of internal and external misalignments. We should not just accept these issues as 'normal', rather we should be raising the bar!

Every client has their story and we need to unravel to the roots of how they got to where they are. Is the root cause mental, emotional, physical, environmenal, or social.

You'd be surprised how our diet and lifestyle habits influence the way in which we experience our health. We need to feel connected, inspired and empowered to make the right changes - personalised for each of us. We didn't get to where we are overnight and sure, natural medicines and lifestyle changes are not the quick fixes we've become accustomed to, but the results will be long lasting.

Is there anything you want to know more about through the lens of #ayurveda. Daily rituals, doshas, digestive care, immune support, herbs, breath work, self care tips, principles, recipes, how to ... etc. Leave a comment below ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

  • Do you feel the influence of the full moon in your life?โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃThe ancient Yogis observed the effect of the sun and the moon energies on human life and mind through its effects on the flow of prana within the Nadis. Nadis are the subtle channels through which the vital force flows. โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃWe have a solar Nadi (PINGALA) and a Lunar Nadi (IDA). These two #Nadis are connected to the two nostrils. They control all the processes of physical chemistry, metabolism, and the way the mind works. Thatโ€™s why conscious breathing and pranayama are so important in yoga practice. โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃThe term Hatha means the balance of Sun and moon energies. When we say โ€œsun-moonโ€, we are referring to the transcendence of dualities or pairs of opposites: sun & moon, heat & cold, day & night, male & female... which are the causes of human suffering.โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃ#Surya โ˜€๏ธenergy is masculine, warm, light, active, logical, left-brain energy, and flows through the right nostril.โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃ#Chandra๐ŸŒ— energy is feminine, cool, dark, passive, intuitive, right-brain energy, and flows through the left nostril.โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃThe interaction between #Ida and #Pingala corresponds to the internal dance between intuition and rationality, consciousness and vital power, and the right and left brain hemispheres, feminine and masculine. In everyday life, one of these Nadis is always dominant. Although this dominance alternates throughout the day, one Nadi tends to be ascendant more often and for longer periods than the other. This results in personality, behavior, and health issues that can be called Ida-like or Pingala-like.โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃNowadays we can see that our society has a solar aggravation behavior. We have a clear unbalance that begins inside us. We live in a predatory society where the economic growth, competition, the pressure to succeed, the destruction of nature are the main motto of the #patriarchy. โฃ
โฃโฃ
โฃMother #earth has stopped us. Rest, cooperation, compassion, altruistic behavior are moon qualities that we need to increase. โฃ
โฃThe #balance comes through awareness of these polarities and they are the basis for the journey of integration, harmony, and unity.โฃ
