  • Why an antique teapot?
•
Many dealers insist that we should always buy antique over new product. From a business point of view I agree, but from a brand point of view I have to be honest and i say that I have nothing against new.
•
New it’s great. New is exciting. New Is Now! My many years in the fashion industry has made me appreciate the value of creating something now. The sourcing, designing and development of something cutting edge and current.
What we should abstain from is the over consumption of cheap soulless production. So more than often I say handmade over mass-produced!
•
Quality, detail and craftsmanship are the main benefits and the 'why' in purchasing handmade products.
However, let’s not be misguided to think that all handmade items are always ‘good quality’.
•
If you’re looking for something for your home to last and with a story to tell, then an antique silver teapot will have more charm and presence than one from, say, a department store. The thing people have to remember about antiques is that they have lasted 100 years and will no doubt last a 100 more.
•
So quality handmade over cheap mass produced regardless of age. That's why our oldest products online are well over 170 years old and the newest ones made only in 2020.
All graced with attention to detail and slow made individually crafted with care and consideration. Each item having integrity and a story from birth.
•
Yes antiques have a story, but the story is not over yet. There is still plenty of more history to be made.

  • Not typically my mood on Mondays.. but today it is!

I was up all night dreaming of what I actually want in my life! It’s always surprising to find when you really really ask yourself this question. Some my find the answer can be quite simple.

So what is it that I want? Five simple things really..

1. Art
2. Evolution of ones self
3. Interior Design
4. Friend & Family
5. Nutrition

All so simple.. but at my core this is all I have ever wanted.. why I have deny myself this.. I am still trying to figure it out.. but I am more awake of what I need in my life and I plan to look at this life everywhere until I let go of any feelings of being undeserving. We all deserve a happy life!

So what would be in your list?!

  • I have officially been running for over 60 days now! And I cannot believe how much just this sole activity has impacted my life for me.

It’s not just about getting out there and exercising.
But I find when my body moves my mind! I am able to think clear have less anxiety and find some of my confidence that has been hidden away for quite some time!

Naturally once you start doing one positive thing only more will follow.

Since I’ve started running I have also picked up reading, going back to a plant-based diet, having a better relationship with my partner, learning how to meditate, seeing a therapist every week, getting acupuncture, light therapy, and most importantly caring about what it is that I want out of life!

So yes, I do believe that one simple change can affect your entire life!

I’d love to know if anyone else out there is currently making small changes and what are they!?

  • ✨All Items For Sale ✨I spend a silly amount of time doing random flatlays and mood board at home, something I learn from my design courses at college and always one of my favourite thing to do, even more than the designing itself.
•
Mixing textures and depths with all natural materials, balancing rustic and shiny pieces in natural sunlight and collating low price to to high price pieces. The rules re pretty loose, just need to control colour and tone for visual appeal and clarity to the viewer. An enjoyable and calming experience.

  • Hello to my new followers ✨ Here is a little snippet just about me. I’m Natasha, a London base professional with a fashion background. I have spent years working with luxury fashion designers like Tommy Hilfiger, Pringle of Scotland and All Saints, honing my sourcing and development skills.
It was great, sure, but it didn’t feed my fascination for handmade and historical items.
•
So, I decided to study antiques and collectables and travelled the country, rummaging through:
Auction houses, Antique shops, High-end trade fairs, Muddy Car boots sales in the British countryside.
•
I’ve also visited and sourced through the Netherlands, France, and the United States to find intriguing, useful and timeless pieces which add detail and individuality to contemporary living. Frankly, I’m a self-confessed antique shopaholic!
•
If I wasn’t, I’d never have been able to step out on my own and launch The Urban Vintage Affair in 2017, which has since won a #WOW Award for outstanding Woman in Business, and is a prestigious #SmallBusinessSunday winner, as chosen by Dragons’ Den legend Theo Paphitis.
•
My favours pizza is Hawaiian and favourite cocktails are French Martini and a good old fashioned Pina Colada...with the trimmings.
•
If your not bored already and want to know even more then head to my website and search ‘Behind The Brand’ this will pull all my blog posts giving you access to more insights about me and The Urban Vintage Affair.
•
Thank You for following, reading and supporting. And especially thank you to each one you had purchased from me. Hope you have found the experience rewarding.

  • Good Morning and yet to have my first cuppa. Are you a morning tea or coffee person?
•
I alternate my morning beverage to my mood. Frothy coffee, good old English breakfast or a cleansing hot lemon and water. Regardless I have a good selection of coffee and teapots online great for styling flowers or for use as originally intended ☕️
•
The Punk Adrian is from the fine Legle Limoges Sous Le Soleil Collection wonderful luxury quality with 24kt gold trim.
•
The Punk Tess is an antique bachelor pot the smallest in our collection and very decent in her style.

  • Happy Week To you 👍 I have been looking forward to this big fat lay-in all week. It’s been a hectic one, including a nasty migraine all day yesterday. So today I’m resting and wondering who will make my breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have some fab new products to list for #NewVintageSunday I need to do some laundry and head out for some air.... that’s all anyone is getting out of me today. I need a break from social too as it does not help with the migraines, so will catch up with you later.

So, I decided to study antiques and collectables and travelled the country, rummaging through:
Auction houses, Antique shops, High-end trade fairs, Muddy Car boots sales in the British countryside.

I’ve also visited and sourced through the Netherlands, France, and the United States to find intriguing, useful and timeless pieces which add detail and individuality to contemporary living. Frankly, I’m a self-confessed antique shopaholic!

My favours pizza is Hawaiian and favourite cocktails are French Martini and a good old fashioned Pina Colada...with the trimmings.

If your not bored already and want to know even more then head to my website and search ‘Behind The Brand’ this will pull all my blog posts giving you access to more insights about me and The Urban Vintage Affair.

Thank You for following, reading and supporting. And especially thank you to each one you had purchased from me. Hope you have found the experience rewarding.
    Natasha x✨

  • Hiya world this is me, Charise, the face behind the tea parties ✨ I don’t do these posts often because I hate being in photos, but I guess when you’re having a great weekend, fulfilling dreams you didn’t even know you had, and have a best friend who knows SHE knows better and puts you in a corner for a photo, you listen. Thanks @taylor_bird 🖤 things about me: I love antiquing, my cat, my peeps in my life, and I LOOOVE teacups. Oh and tulle skirts and meeting wonderful positive people and treating those lovelies to tea. I love a lot of things. Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to where I am. I am utterly exhausted and have a TON of washing up to do but it can wait because I want to soak up and fall asleep to this happy feeling.
