  • In diesem Jahr hat sich mein Lesegeschmack sehr verändert. Mir ist einfach aufgefallen, dass mich die meisten Young Adult Geschichten einfach nicht mehr so ansprechen, da ich die Protagonisten einfach zu jung finde, ich ihr Verhalten nicht verstehen kann und die Geschichten irgendwie oft vorhersehbar sind. 😅
Ich glaube, ich bin einfach aus dem Alter raus gewachsen und kann mich mit älteren Protagonisten einfach besser identifizieren. ♥️ Bei Fantasy merke ich, dass ich es mehr mag, wenn die Storys düsterer sind und es mehr in den New Adult Bereich geht. Wenn die Protagonisten mit anderen Dingen, als den ersten Kuss oder Ähnliches zu kämpfen haben. Durch meine liebste @girl_behind_bookss habe ich auch zu einem neuen Genre gefunden, dass ich früher so nie gelesen habe - New Adult. Ich finde es eben einfach angenehmer, wenn die Charaktere keine typischen „Teenieprobleme“ haben, sondern sich mit anderen Dingen auseinander setzen. Und auch mit meiner lieben @lostmyheartineverybook habe ich bemerkt, dass mich die meisten Jugendbücher einfach nicht mehr so ansprechen. Ich mag New Adult Fantasy einfach viel mehr mittlerweile und das ist auch in Ordnung so, denn Geschmäcker können sich auch mal ändern. ♥️ Ich lese einfach viel lieber Erwachsenere Bücher und diese Veränderung tut mir selbst sehr gut. 🥰 Wie ist es bei euch? Lest ihr lieber im Young Adult oder New Adult Bereich? Hat sich euer Leseverhalten auch geändert? ❤️

  • If you never ate snacks but now you are eating yoghurt instead of the icecream you wanted, you are going in the right direction but this isn't real recovery.

If you used to workout every single day and now you only go to the gym three times a month, I am proud of you but you aren't there yet.

If you used to skip breakfast but now you are drinking a smoothie instead of the crossaints you wanted, you're making progress but you can't continue like this.

If you keep choosing the lower calorie stuff, if you keep excercising, if you only eat a little more you will never really recover.
I know it is hard to keep fighting but being just a LITTLE BIT SICK is not an option.
So many people with eating disorders recover a little, everybody believes they are fine but they keep struggling even until they are 50 years old.
In the past I used to believe I would never recover completely. But now after all the magic that has happened I know that if I keep going, one day I will be fully recovered.
But to get there I have to choose recovery EVERY👏SINGLE👏DAY👏
I don't want to stay in this “not sick but not recoverd either“ state. So I committed fully to recovery, so I'm going to do everything until I've reached my goal.
So YES, you have to go ALL IN to get rid of your ed.
YES you have to do the scary stuff.
And YES you are probably going to gain weight. The weight your body needs to function at its best.
But YES you are going to recover completely if you keep doing that!

  • I thought about keeping this memory for myself but decided to share, because it marks a turning point in 2020. This crazy year! Fried rabbit with wine, a glass of wine with a fresh salad is one of my fav meals. I do not care what is in the salad, but forget the lettuce, please! Fasari “the Big” is a fabulous cook. In fact, most Cretan men are excellent with food. Yesterday this is one of the dishes he prepared while we simultaneously made the weeks work of baking paximadi and held a Minoan Tastes workshop outside. After the workshop and while the bread was baking, we enjoyed a long lunch followed by a friend’s music. Since the year began, This  was the first workshop where I cooked with fire and the first time baking bread in a proper wood oven. Extraordinary, in countless ways. In the evening I went back to my home, did a final clean and handed in the keys of my rented Ierapetra home. Last night was the first time since 2006 that I did not carry my own house keys in my hand. Sad as it sounds, I was full of life and had everything that I truly needed. #ifeelfree #allin #womeninfood #covid19 #pandemic #restart #minoantastes #crete #aegean #greece #bringiton

In einer Diät lassen sich Fortschritte relativ leicht mitverfolgen. Erfolge kommen schneller, und entweder die Waage geht nach unten, oder du siehst einfach besser aus.⠀
⠀
Im Aufbau ist das Ganze etwas schwieriger. Die Zahl auf der Waage geht nach oben, aber heißt das auch, dass du wirklich Fortschritt machst? Woher weißt du, dass du wirklich Muskulatur, und kein (oder nur wenig) Fett aufbaust?⠀
⠀
Dafür gibt’s ein paar Indikatoren, die du beachten kannst.⠀
⠀
Der wichtigste Indikator: du wirst im Training stärker. ⠀
Ein paar Reps mehr pro Training, über mehrere Wochen hinweg Kilos auf die Lifts draufpacken - das ist das beste Anzeichen dafür, dass du Muskulatur aufbaust.⠀
Deshalb ist das auch das Ziel, das du dir in einer Gaining Phase setzen solltest - stark zu werden.⠀
Pack 20, 30, 40, 50 Kilo auf deine Main Moves drauf - und du wirst sehen, dein Körper wird NICHT mehr derselbe sein.⠀
⠀
Ein weiterer Indikator - natürlich - du nimmst zu.⠀
Das is aber auch abhängig von der Ausgangssituation - je mehr Körperfett du hast, umso weniger solltest du auf die Gewichtszunahme achten. Umgekehrt - je geringer dein Körperfettanteil, umso wichtiger die Gewichtszunahme.⠀

Und, ein weiterer Aspekt - Kleidung sitzt enger. ⠀
Gerade wir Frauen sind davon oft ein wenig eingeschüchtert, denn wir assoziieren „engere Kleidung“ oft direkt mit „dick werden“. Dabei ist das ganz weit weg von der Realität. Schaffst du es nicht mehr, deine Diät-Hosen über deine Oberschenkel zu ziehen? Perfekt, genau das willst du.⠀

Gerade im Aufbau ist es unendlich wichtig, dem Prozess einfach zu vertrauen. Wenn du deine Boxen täglich abhakst, und geduldig bist, wird sich das in der nächsten Diät mit Sicherheit bezahlt machen.⠀

◾️Having the same shitty, low-energy breakfast everyday without deviation is not convenient.
It is firing, deepening, strengthening and entrenching the ED-OCD neural pathways that are keeping you sick.

◼️An absent period is not convenient.
It means your systems are shutting down because you aren’t eating enough. It means bones are weakening. It means your sleep is affected. It means you are disinterested in love. It means you are infertile & can’t have a family of your own if you decide that’s your path.
•
◼️Not feeling any emotions is not convenient.
It means that you dodge facing things you care about. It means you numb out anything that matters. It means the needs your body is trying to communicate aren’t being responded to. It means you fail to connect with others authentically & with all of your heart.
•
◼️Not growing out of clothes is not convenient.
It is limiting physiological & psychological growth. It is harming your brain, all of its systems, & your internal organs.
•
◼️Being excessively productive around the house is not convenient.
It means the other members of your family worry about you daily, knowing that you are not responding to your own need of rest and attention to healing.

Please don’t be fooled by any attempts of justification of ED behaviours. Every single one of them will be flawed.

I dare you to be really honest with yourself and others about where you are and what you want, and stop kidding yourself that you're happy with how things are now. I dare you to put your trust in something other than your eating disorder, and see that nothing bad happens when you loosen the reins. I dare you to entertain the possibility that you can do more than you think you can. I dare you to believe that there is a life outside of this cage, and to believe that you really can break free.

  • chronic illness and recovery/illness that effects one’s recovery.

I see you. I hear your pain. I feel and understand your pain. you are noticed. 

I personally have 2 chronic illnesses that impact what i can do in my recovery so I feel a bit inclined to speak on this topic and educate others. I personally have eosinophilic esophagitis and just on Friday was diagnosed with Achalasia which I’ll make another post about.

With chronic illness, it’s often that pain interferes with when and what a person recovering can eat. Wether it be allergies, inflammation, bacteria, motility disorders, etc. it becomes harder to eat initiatively because of our limitations. Some people can’t eat out because there aren’t options there for them. others needs to be on liquids due to there bodies not working properly. Others are in constant pain physically and sometimes just can’t get up for food when they want to. And it makes it so much more challenging to be battling and eating disorder and a physical illness. 

it’s easy to get blamed to be “not fully recovering” or “restricting” when that isn’t the case. We just have to deal with obstacles and work with them to beat our eating disorder. It just means that our path may look a little different than others. But that DOES NOT mean our recovery is any less valid. We are still working hard to beat it. 

To those that are battling a chronic illness, I understand how hard it is. I see your pain and I am with you. You are noticed and I am cheering you on. ❤️

  • All In Protein Roll Ups. Can balcony fine dining get any better? Today was hot and I didn’t feel like cooking again so I went with one of my go to #easylowcarb meals. Also a great Sandwich & Potato Chips Low Carb Ditch & Switch option:
We all have days when we just don’t feel like cooking☀️, & just want something quick and simple. I love the No Bake Protein Roll Up for days like this, as well as for beach lunches, work lunches & travel. Layer deli meat of your choice with cheese, place a few spoonfuls of chicken salad in the center. Roll it up and you are good to go. In place of potato chips enjoy a bag of flavored pork rinds. I like the EPIC brand sold at Whole Foods & Target. This meal is simple and affordable and I had a  #happyhusband Enjoy!❤️

  • 👩🏽‍🎓FINALLY GRADUATED from my HS! I got my exams results today and I feel so free. I did way better than I thought so! I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF GUYS! This feeling is incredible. Haven’t felt that good for a long time! 🙌🏼🥰✨

Little update: (TW!)

I have been feeling very low for the past couple of weeks. I felt like my recovery doesn’t make sense. I wanted to give up. I wanted to end my therapy. I wanted to quit this account. I felt NOT ENOUGH to fight for myself. Or maybe I just didn’t want to fight anymore…

I always feel not enough.

I feel like I haven’t vomited enough times to call myself bulimic.

I feel like I haven’t lost enough weight in the past to say „I had anorexia”.

I feel like I don’t have enough self harm scars to even call it a problem.

I feel like I don’t have enough problems to ask for help!!!

But lately (thanks to therapy) have I realised that

IT IS OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP IF YOU CANNOT DEAL WITH YOUR PROBLEMS ON YOUR OWN! IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU WEAK. IT MEANS THAT YOU ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO FIGHT!

Please remember, all your problems are valid. It doesn’t matter how small or big they are. It doesn’t matter how „sick” you are. It doesn’t matter if you meet exact criteria of your diagnosis.

YOU ARE ENOUGH TO RECOVER. AND YOU DESERVE TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS AND FIGHT FOR BETTER TOMORROW.

I don’t give up even its so fucking hard at the moment. Recovery is bumpy road and nobody said it would be easy.

It won’t be.

But I still fight.

I love you all. My DM is always open for you ❤️

recently I have been challenging myself a lot more. At first it may seem like “I don’t need to challenge myself more, this is already hard enough” but really, is that the case, or are you staying in your safe zone? I have felt too safe recently so I have gone out of my way to challenge myself and here’s some of I did:
-got a blizzard from dairy queen
-got a LARGE milkshake from chick-fil-a 
-having 2 glasses of choc milk instead of 1
-asking for fear foods for dinner 
-honoring ALL mental hunger
-snacking out if the bag so I can’t see how much I am having
these are just a couple things i’ve been doing to push myself a little further and I already feel so much more freedom. I had “freedom” before where I could have whatever I wanted, but I was always still afraid of the larger size, or not seeing how much I eat. so i’ve challenged that a lot recently! now I am not afraid of getting a large instead of medium milkshake, in fact, that is actually what I want. so if there’s anything I want you all to take away from this is to challenge those fears that you may still be hanging onto! you may not realize you have them until you try to push yourself a little more. sending love to you all! ❤️
