Lol joke, it's actually sugar free cream soda to keep me on plan! But a girl can pretend can't she?

Today has been such a busy day at work. I literally couldn't even tell you how many people I have spoken to!

But, for me I'm now half way through the week! I'm so excited for my long weekend where I will be having a glass of gin!

I know, sounds dumb! You probably rolled your eyes! Thought “ya ya I know I know”

If you kept reading, (first off thank you! Lol) understand there is a REASON you’ve heard it so many times to drink more water!
~
🌿 It is quite literally LIFE! Down to a cellular level! It’s part of what holds us together and allows us to function in the world
~
💦 You’ve heard it before but really sit with this: 60% of you is water and humans CANNOT survive without it - end of story
~
💪🏻 It keeps things lubricated like joints, and digestion, it help temperature regulation, it helps transport water-solvable vitamins and keeps your cells from falling apart!!
~
And coming back to how this helps you have success in your fitness journey when you’re first starting out? You must practice and master the basics before upping the skill
~
Most look for the quick & easy answer to weight loss anyway, so why not practice drinking water instead of dismissing it
~
Commit to yourself and PROVE you can do it ➡️ boosts your confidence in the next little task you choose to commit to ➡️ and concurring that boosts it more ➡️ until you believe there is NOTHING you can’t do!
~
Am I being dramatic? 😏 
~
No one accomplished anything with the basics masters first!
~

  • I started my journey two months ago with my personal trainer and nutrition coach @albertosalvi_personaltrainer 💎I was very unfit and my energy levels were very low.   • Remind yourself that EVERY dream is achievable. Work hard. Set goals and make it happen 🖤

. We aren't rich $ wise. Not even close. We have a tight budget but a hard work ethic and big dreams. 
.
. I can't express how little of importance finances can be when aiming for high goals. You can make things happen without being a millionaire. You just have to push yourself to be resilient, thrifty, and think outside the box. 
.
. As you have seen we took a large detour and put our cordwood dream on hold. The tiny house is close to being done and now those cordwood aches are back! 
.
. Building this style home by hand ourselves won't be easy.  We are prepared to feel moments of defeat and anguish. We are also prepared and eager to one day sleep under a roof in a home where our hands have literally touched and built every sq inch. 🙌
.
.It will be our greatest feat yet, I promise you that! 
.
. If anything ever comes from sharing our journey so publically I hope its inspiration.
.
. Inspiration to anyone out there peeking in, that money isn't everything
(it helps but it's not #1) That you see reclaimed materials can be just as beautiful, and most importantly that anything is possible if you set your mind, heart, and soul to it!

. We aren't master builders... (Although Forrest is somewhat a jack of all trades) 
.
.We aren't rolling in money...
.We aren't experts on our lifestyle....
.
.
. But we are more. 
.
. We are eager to learn.
.We are 100% committed
.We are a family with dreams and ambitions and the will power to push hard to make things happen..

  • Today I finished week 1 of my first ever Olympic training program! Lots to work on but I’m loving every minute of it. ⠀
⠀
On that note, how often do you hear or find yourself thinking⠀
☹️ “I wish I could/was/had — “⠀
☹️ “I’m so bad at —“⠀
☹️ or even simply, ”I need to get in shape”⠀
⠀
We all have unique dreams and goals (what is “in shape?”); depending on our situation, some of them are more attainable than others. If you’ve found yourself with a bit more time to think since the start of the pandemic, I encourage you to take a moment to check in on the things you say you wish for; reassess what it is that you REALLY want, why you want it, and what you need to do to get it.⠀
⠀
An example: I want to get better at Olympic weightlifting. I love the lifts and the technical challenge. Before I started this program, I thought about these questions:⠀
⠀
1️⃣What is it that you want to change? ⠀
My answer: I want to be able to move heavier weights over my head.
(Generally, consider things you have some control over: physical abilities, lifestyle, your diet, something about your appearance, your longterm health indicators, your relationship with exercise, relationship with food, with your body, and/or a combination)⠀
⠀
2️⃣Why do you want to change it?⠀
A: Because I love the sport & I want to be more involved in it. It will make my body stronger and I’ll feel more capable/proud of myself.⠀
⠀
3️⃣What about your lifestyle are you willing or able to change to achieve this goal?⠀
A: I’m ready to switch up my training split, devote most of my workout time to Oly work, and spend less time doing endurance stuff ;)⠀
⠀
Some equally important follow-up questions are these:⠀
1. What do you enjoy? your known weaknesses? Strengths/preferences?⠀
✨ Consider these things when you draw up your plan of attack. This is important because the only way your goals will be sustainable is if you enjoy the process of achieving them or truly want the outcome. (Pro tip: This applies to all of our goals, in and outside of exercise). 
Until the world can safely re-open, start achieving your goals with a plan!⠀

  • Want to achieve your “impossible” dream? Tell a friend. Or even better...⠀

Text them. I’m serious! ⠀

Yesterday in a group chat, one of my friends wrote, “This pandemic has made me think. I want to be a professional speaker rather than going back to a day job. And...I also want to run for national public office. It’s weird to say this all out loud!”⠀
⠀
Does it feel weird? Maybe. Is it effective? DEFINITELY.  Did you know you are more than 40% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down? It’s true. And here’s why:⠀
⠀
First, writing your goals down - even in a text - helps you define exactly what it is you want to achieve. Writing goals forces you to be specific about your dream so you can move into action. ⠀
⠀
Second, writing goals down gives you the motivation to achieve them! For me, writing my goals and showing them to other people helps keep me accountable. ⠀
⠀
Real talk: it also helps me be brave. ⠀
⠀
When I first decided I was going to write a book, I told a lot of people close to me that I was going to do it. I repeated it so many times: “I’m writing a book.” And in the times I felt afraid (many), or unqualified (many), or tired (VERY many), the people I’d talked to encouraged me and helped me keep going. ⠀
⠀
So, in honor of my friend who is TOTALLY running for public office (!), I thought I’d write some goals out today: ⠀
I’m writing a book. Yes, another one. ⠀
✨⠀
I’m recording a series of digital courses that will help thousands of people - including you - earn more and feel more confident doing it. ⠀
✨⠀
I’m studying how to be a GREAT teacher online so that I can help my students learn and feel connected to our school this fall. ⠀
✨⠀
I’m carving out time to be present with my family and take care of myself. ⠀
✨⠀
⠀
Now it’s your turn! Write your goals down. Especially the crazy ones you’re scared to say out loud. Tell people about them!  And if they say anything other than, “That’s awesome!  You can do it! How can I help?” - then you need a new text group. Get yourself a circle of friends who are excited and will encourage you. ⠀

So do it. Text a friend. Or write to me. I’ll be the loudest person cheering as you achieve it. #askformore

  • 🌸Everyone likes a big goal.
🌸When looking at a big goal, it can be overwhelming thinking “how am I going to accomplish all that?”
🌸But that’s actually the right question: how.
🌸The how is by breaking the big goal down into more easily tackled chunks, an approach often called incremental goals.
🌸
🌸Here are some steps for breaking down the objective:
🌸 1: Whatever it is, sit down with your calendar and look at your available blocks of time. Goals aren’t achieved overnight, so it’s important to make sure time is carved out in advance to take smaller steps.
🌸 2: Create vision boards with your key objective, and then write out all the “process” objectives that will help you achieve that objective over a set time period.
🌸 3: Combine the two. Print out a calendar with your carved out time segments, and then layer the process goals throughout.
🌸By focusing on the smaller goals, you’re also able to learn how to navigate any hurdles along the way.

  • 🌸Everyone likes a big goal.
    🌸When looking at a big goal, it can be overwhelming thinking “how am I going to accomplish all that?”
    🌸But that’s actually the right question: how.
    🌸The how is by breaking the big goal down into more easily tackled chunks, an approach often called incremental goals.

    🌸Here are some steps for breaking down the objective:
    🌸 1: Whatever it is, sit down with your calendar and look at your available blocks of time. Goals aren’t achieved overnight, so it’s important to make sure time is carved out in advance to take smaller steps.
    🌸 2: Create vision boards with your key objective, and then write out all the “process” objectives that will help you achieve that objective over a set time period.
    🌸 3: Combine the two. Print out a calendar with your carved out time segments, and then layer the process goals throughout.
    🌸By focusing on the smaller goals, you’re also able to learn how to navigate any hurdles along the way.

  • Even though there is NO finish line...

It is the BEST feeling to finish a program that took 87 days of focus, commitment and making good choices!

Things I gained: confidence, arm muscle, and a rounder booty 🤪

Things I happen to lose along the way: 4 lb and 5.5 total inches. .
I'm sharing this because I'm proud and I'm PROOF that a picky eating, wine loving dog mom can get results and I want to show you the way to feeling AH👏🏻FREAKING👏🏻MAZING.
