His cook of 20 years Miss Salmiah Md Isa attested to this by saying that the Tunku had to have curry every day, usually for lunch.   • Tunku Abdul Rahman’s love for Otak-otak rightfully symbolises the joint admiration he had for both his parents’ cultures. Many may know that the Tunku’s father and royal ancestry was of Kedah origins, which in turn birthed his love for Northern Malaysian cuisine. 

What may come as a surprise to most is that the Tunku’s mother was actually Thai, and she would be the main figure in helping him grow his love for Thai food. 

Thus, the perfect marriage of both these cuisines turned up in the form of his favourite “Otak-otak Kukus”, a Malay take on the traditional Thai dish, Hor Mok Pla. It was a regular homemade dish, always seemingly available at the Tunku’s house due to his undying love for it.

We have created our Otak-otak Sliders, not just as a commemoration to the Tunku but also to the many flavourful cultures that exist in our harmonious Malaysia. Our house-made Otak-otak is sandwiched between beautifully toasted Mantou buns and served with a delectable flower crab aioli and crispy sweet potato fries.

🍢There is a myth that mall restaurants are just mediocre, only provide for shoppers who are hungry and need a seat to rest🤔 It does apply to some restaurants but this one served really good LOCAL delights!😋😋

🍢The nasi lemak (coconut rice) is of a generous portion, and what impresses me is the crispy skin chicken leg and the sweet and spicy sambal on the side🌶

🍢Satay refers to the seasoned, skewered and grilled meat. The most common options are chicken, mutton and beef🐓🐑🐂I love mutton the most, especially those with grilled fat and gamey taste🥺 There will totally be a post dedicated solely to satay in the coming days!!

🍢Quivo also serves other food eg pizza and pasta, but I haven’t got the chance to try it. It operates as a pub at night as well - I think it’s worth a try if you happen to shop in Mid Valley!😉

🍢椰浆饭的椰浆够充足,鸡腿够肥美,鸡皮够酥脆,叁巴夠香辣,吃得夠開心😋加上份量也夠大,我會建議兩人吃一份然後另點小吃~

🍢沙爹说白了就是肉串,可是超有马来西亚特色,我之后为它作专题报道的时候再详细介绍😎简单来说它主要有鸡羊牛三种口味🐓🐑🐂,本人最爱是羊,烤得香喷喷的羊脂加上羊膻味别提有多美🤤来马来西亚必吃!!!
